Removing Scratches from Kestrel Screen?

So I'm a dumbass and dropped my Kestrel onto some loose gravel, and the screen now sports some scratches (have a screen protector now, shoulda had one before). They don't meaningfully obscure the screen but are still a nuisance, especially when trying to read the screen with sunglasses.

Already tried rubbing them with the toothpaste trick, didn't really appear to do much. Was wondering if the hide had any tips on how to remove them. Thanks in advance!

Many screen protectors will usefully hide previous scratches to the original screen. Wet applied ones, I want to say. If your current protector isn't doing that, look into alternatives maybe.

Also... can you replace it? I have replaced screen covers on things like my DSLRs a few times. On many electronic things the screen is just held on with adhesive tape, and doesn't fall off because it's flush and tightly fitted to the case around it. Maybe ask the Kestrel guys if they offer parts AND it's easily enough done?

I use Novus plastic scratch remover polish (it comes in different grades). Griot's Garage makes good plastic polish too. I use them for my motorcycle helmet and bike windscreens but work on car dashboards and other plastic surfaces too. Toothpaste is usually too fine for most deeper scratches. Good luck. I'm sure others have their own remedies!

3m also makes a car headlight restoration kit, I have used on scratched plastic.

Worse case send it to Kestrel.
40 bucks iirc was the bill for mine to be replaced.

Just an update. Starting with Novus #2 and working my way through the grades, I was able to polish it to the point where it's much less noticeable with a screen protector. There's still a bit of a shadow on the LCD screen but it's nowhere near as bad as before.
