I was hoping somebody has done this before and could point me in the right direction.

I have a older safe, American Security Cascade Model 7250. It has I dial but I have been thinking about changing it to a electronic for the only reason to make easier for the wife to access and for ease of getting in and out in low light if an issue arises. just looking at my options
Thanks For the help

Re: Replacing a DIal Lock with a Electronic

I just read a thread on here with people talking about the electronic lock failures and how they are way too common. All in thread stated they wouldn't go electronic again. Search for it and may give you some insights.

If you are locking your handguns in your safe consider purchasing a Gun Vault. This way you can keep your reliable manual lock on your safe. With the Gun Vault you can access your handgun in the dark without any light. They are very easy to use and they take up very little space so you can hide them in a convenient location.

Thanks for the help guys, I was trying to convince myself I didn't need another safe, and would modify my old one.....now I get to buy a new Gun vault....

The big safe has an old school S&G dial. I love it.

I used to have small push button safe. Then I realized anything I need NOW shouldn't be in a safe. If I am leaving the house, then I don't need it NOW, so it can go in the big safe.

Unfortunately the "big" safe.....isn't so big anymore. The next safe will be a dial as well.

Less chance of failure and you don't have to worry about the keypad wearing in (or changing your code all the time).
