Hard to watch? That was one of the most painful things I think I've had to endure in years. He argued like a four year old. I can't even believe that guy has a law degree. He spent an hour sifting through innocuous crap, and in his mind I'm sure he summited some extreme "gotcha" on the most ludicrous and meaningless minutiae. That smugness when he transgressed the judge was crazy and I'm surprised the judge didn't come down off the bench and bitch-slap him. Would have been well deserved.
His case is trash and his only hope is trying to get Kyle to admit he was responsible for creating the situation where he was attacked. There's some people saying that the prosecutor is trying to cause a mistrial. I know the judge wanted to say more earlier when the prosecution tried to introduce evidence the judge excluded but he stopped himself. Later on he said he didn't believe the prosecutor was acting in good faith. So it's possible, even likely, that the judge thinks the prosecutor is throwing the case.
And for the love of god can the defense call in a ballistics expert. Listening to the bullshit coming out of the prosecutor's mouth was maddening, and the only person that attempted to correct him was the judge. Someone needs to tell the jury that FMJs aren't designed to go through multiple people, hollowpoints don't explode, a handgun can be just as deadly as a rifle, and it's entirely possible for someone to miss a moving target from 20ft away under stress (explaining why antifag ran up on Kyle).
