I have an LMT MWS 16" SS with the surefire 762SS can. When I put the can on, the rifle continues to group very well but it has some occasional cycling issues.

Every now and then the bolt will ride over the base of the fresh round and then smash into the side of that round as it tries to enter the chamber. Hard to explain with out a picture but it seems to me the bolt is moving to fast for the magazine with the suppressor installed.

Is there any way to remedy this? I know an adjustable gas block is likely what I need but that is not really a solution I can make happen on this barrel.

What about a heavier buffer? What weight would I need? Does any one have any suggestions?

Any one else running the MWS suppressed? What is your experience?

Thanks

I ended up putting one of Slash's ex-heavy buffers and rifle length spring in mine and it runs like a champ when suppressed or un-suppressed. With the stock buffer and spring it would lock the bolt back on 2 out of 5 rds. As a side benefit it made the recoil a little softer. When stock the bolt was running so hard it would shake the bolt catch enough to make it engage.

Awesome, thanks for the info Hogshooter.

I figured a heavier buffer and spring were a good starting point. I'll try to get the buffer and spring ordered tomorrow as I love shooting my MWS, but hate issues every now and then.

Be sure you get the correct buffer and spring. I mistakenly ordered the wrong x-heavy version the first time around and had to sell it on here as Slash would not take it back since I had run it. Call him and tell him explicitly what rifle and stock that you need it for.

Running Slash's AR10R-XH buffer in a 16 inch LMT MWS rifle, PRS stock, Elite Iron suppressor and it is without any problems or malfunctions. Buy his buffer, spring and tube (rifle length) package for better compatibility and function.
