Hello from Texas.
Just wanted to say I am very pleased with my new Savage.
Great bang for the buck.
Took it to the range with pet loads from my former Lapua and once the Savage broke in
the holes were overlapping one another from a cold barrel.
Only my hand me down Winchester pre 64 model 70 does that.
Homer Nagel built it for my dad years ago.
anyway
Looking forward to testing some Retumbo and 869 along with some 300 grain Bergers at distance.
BTW
Sierra has suggested case length data on their exterior ballistics data at 2.724".
Dont trim them that long,it will not extract spent cases of that length.
Most data suggests shorter than that, mine wont digest anything longer than 2.720".
If this data is old or a mute point so be it,otherwise it might keep someone else's blood pressure lower.
If anyone has some pet loads they would like to disclose.....please do so.
Thanks,
out
