Jerry Ricker took care of me. Same day return.
Thanks for the response and much appreciatedIt's repairable, seen a couple like that before.
Had quite a big boo-boo with my scope today at the range and snapped off the back completely and was curious if anyone knows the best place I can get repair information from S&B or whether it can be repaired?
I guess you figure out the diopter doesn't focus like a Nightforce!Had quite a big boo-boo with my scope today at the range and snapped off the back completely and was curious if anyone knows the best place I can get repair information from S&B or whether it can be repaired?
Well, just called today to initiate service on my PMii- Jerry left permanently on Monday. My scope has to go to Germany, now
So it's true? That would stink as in many ways he was the face of Schmidt USA. I wonder where he's going (hopefully stay within the sport optics industry). But what's strange is you say your scope now has to go to Germany... I can't believe that Jerry was a one man shop who serviced every scope in the US, certainly Schmidt has other technicians in the USA that can do this? Or did Schmidt axe the whole USA service department (not just Jerry) which would suck even more! So major price hikes and now no service in the USA, doesn't bode well for Schmidt for the time being...Well, just called today to initiate service on my PMii- Jerry left permanently on Monday. IDK about that. A couple years ago, I sent a 3-20 US in for some flakes on the obj. lens. Jerry eventually sent it to Germany, and the whole process took about 8 months. He never gave me any updates without me having to drag them out of him, and getting replies 3 weeks later. I definitely wasn't happy. So it's true? I had a US 3-20 that had a parallax which needed a pipe wrench to turn, spoke with Jerry first, sent the scope in and about 10 days later had my scope back, turned out to be improperly lubed field lens which means they had to pull the scope apart to repair. I'm sure Schmidt does not want this information to get out to the masses, especially if everything needs to go back to Germany now but that remains to be seen, it could be hit and miss, some go back to Germany some are repaired in house at Schmidt USA service center...IDK about that. That is whom I spoke to as well, and I agree- super nice, and incredibly pleasant to deal with.I had a minor issue with a 6x36 I just bought. Talked to Jerry 3 weeks ago. He told me 2-3 weeks turn around. He's always treated me well in the past. No updates so I called the other day and talked to Lisa, super nice gal. Told her my dilemma. Jerry up and left with no notice. My Scope is going back to Germany. She offered a loaner which will be here Monday till mine gets back.
Can't ask for better service than that!
