For a $400 budget, what scope do you recommend for silhouette and accurate target (up to 100 yards) shooting?
The rifle is a Savage Mark 2 G and I already have a Muller APV. The scope is fine but I find the reticule to be too thick. I’m also wondering if I a higher magnification would not be better.
I’m a little confused with the following contradiction:
On one hand, many recommend very high power magnification variable scopes (like the old Japanese 8-32 Tasco ).
On the other hand, many believe that at those magnifications, the glass must be top notch (like a $3000 S&B). They believe that buying a cheaper scope will have too much of distortion to be useful past X10 magnification.
So which type/brand of scope do you recommend (magnification, reticule, brand)?
Thanks,
