Looking for scope recommendations / advice for optics on a DTA HTI which happened to be an impulse purchase. This will be 50 BMG and 375 Cheytac
I have narrowed my search down to the 4 following scopes
- Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56
- Steiner M5Xi 5-25x56
- Night Force ATACR F1 7-35x56
- Night Force ATACR F1 5-25x56
I currently have a Gen II 4.5-27x56 on an RPR and havent had the opportunity to look through a Steiner or Night Force in person.
This is going on a already heavy rifle so I am not super concerned about weight savings scope to scope.
One of the things i like about the Gen II that I currently own are 10 MILs per turret turn with indicator, Steiner seems to have a good two turn setup as well. Night Force seems to be lacking in this department.
I see that there isn't much love for Steiner in general, and I know there are not many positive reviews of the T5Xi but I am only really interested in the Military series.
Night Force does seem to have more elevation travel than the other options, but the Razor isnt too far behind.
Night Force does list both ATACR scopes listed as having slightly less FOV as the Steiner or Vortex
My original assumption on an optic that can hold up to the large caliber are
1. Night Force
2. Steiner
3. Vortex - I did ask them about this and they told me it would be fine. I also know their warranty is great but would just prefer to not use it and be out a scope every 30 shots if avoidable.
In terms of cost it goes from cheapest to most expensive
1. Vortex
2. Steiner
3. Night Force 5-25
4. Night Force 7-35
Would rather support USA so there is some sway there, NF and Vortex get slight push on that end.
Also sorry for the new post on an old topic and yes I have searched this forum and other sites as well

Countless others and video reviews, etc....just makes the waters slightly muddier.
