I've been using Ballistic on my iTouch for over a year and have had great success with 4 different rifles. I put Shooter on my Droid hoping that maybe I wouldn't need to carry the iTouch anymore. Entered all proven info from Ballistic into Shooter. All drops match within .1 MOA on all rifles except the Edge. Shooter shows I need .5 MOA less elevation at 1000 yds. then Ballistic. My info on Ballistic has been proven out to 1780 yds. In order to get Shooter close, I have to drop velocity by 35 fps and then I'm withing .1 MOA out to 1000 yds. I've checked 3 times to make sure all input is the same. Any ideas why the dope is so different on the Edge?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Shooter App vs. Ballistic problem

Ok. Well I tried one more thing and it worked. I went through the bullet library when setting up each profile on all the rifles and let it automatically enter the bullet info. It worked on every rifle except the Edge. I decided to try the "add ammo" option and manually enter the info for the 300 grain Berger (Gen 1) Hybrid. I use .419 for the G7 B.C. Instead of the .455 G7 B.C. that's printed on the box. I got the .419 B.C. from reading all the testing others had done when these bullets had first come out. Most everyone agreed that the .455 B.C. was a little high and they decided that .419 B.C. was closer. Berger now lists .419 as the B.C. on the Gen 2 bullets. I'm guessing that the Shooter App is still using the .455 B.C. if you let it enter info from the Bullet library. I will email the developer to verify this and maybe he will update if his current info is incorrect.

Re: Shooter App vs. Ballistic problem

It's in the part where you modify the bullet, set it to ASM if using Berger/Sierra/Hornady.

ICAO for Lapua and Berger

A while ago when I researched this, I found that only Barnes, Hornady, and Sierra still use the old ASM atmosphere. All others (Berger for sure) use the more modern ICAO standard.

If you're using the Litz BC, it is referenced to the ICAO standard for all brands. In other words, the only time you would use ASM is if you're using the manufacturers advertised BC from Hornady, Sierra or Barnes.
