If you guys were ever thinking about getting one, now is the time.
Setting up a Trust was easy and cost $250 and it only took about 2 days if that it was done by email with an attorney.
All he needed from me was name, addess, phone and another persons name to be named the beneficiary. Simple.
Then I had it notarized at my bank and then took it to my dealer. Done.
I have the attorneys contact info if anyone needs it

6 months from now (hopefully less FL has more reviewers now) your gonna be kicking yoursevles in the ass
for not taking advantage of this.

Just saying

When we getting together?

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

have fun if you guys shoot this weekend. I will be shooting in TN. Taking a Ronin Combat LR class....should be schaweet

My 300 should be done from Woody next week so I'll be ready to go test it out.

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

I can't make it this weekend but next weekend is open! Labor Day weekend will have both of our girls in the same house!

Flying the youngun home for the long weekend! We're still adjusting here!

How was it out there on Sunday with Isaac bearing down? I bet the wind calls were challenging!

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

i didn't make it out Issac was being blown out of proportion so I wanted to make sure the house was secure and all. At least we got to try out the new hurricane shutters

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

Woodie claims my 300 in a hammer must verify. I have a TON of new fundamentals to practice now after my class. I will get down and at least shoot a few rounds.

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

New stock made it in today. Now I just have to wait for my ammo to make it in.But i do have two boxes to start with and a local shop has two more boxes for a fair price. Can't Wait

Al, I can bring some extra along. I have a decent quantity of 155s (2156, 2155 and AMAXs), 168s, 175s and 178s.

On a dark note, the weather may suck donkey balls this week end as by some weird turn of fate, the remnants of Hurricane Isaac have spun off into a tropical wave/depression in the northern Gulf of Mexico. Present models indicate it is likely to hit us this weekend. Hopefully they are wrong again!

Pray for dry!

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

i am not gonna be able to shoot this weekend. our stuff is getting delivered to the new house tomorrow so we'll be moving all weekend. I am going to go pick up my 300 though so maybe I'll swing by and say hi.

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

Thank you for offering up ammo I really do appreciate it.

Im not sure if I can make it down this weekend. Will have to see.
I want my rifle!!! I want to shoot!!!
Woody keeps sending pics of her, its like porn...

Isaac WTF? Lets see what this storm does.

AL

Over Watch youll see my rifle before me.

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

Not sure what to think about this weather forecast...Looks as though the remnants of Isaac have not developed to the extent that was possible. Nevertheless, there is still a high probability of rain. As long as it isn't driving rain, I'm going to go.

If it's too wet to place the steel out there I will do some paper work.

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

Concrete sawing postponed thus the framing, drywall and clean up is consequently postponed. One must come before the other of course.

Whatever will I do on a perfectly good Saturday afternoon and wide open, apparently hurricane/monsoon free Sunday?

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

Oh wow

I actually have some free time to go get her
grin.gif
...but I have to go to
the Lakeland Center to pick her up. Ill be doing this on Sun.
Woody has a table at the gun show.

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

James, she is purty!

I'm about to load a couple hundred 175s and plan on being saddled up and on the way tomorrow morning for 09:30 set up.

Reasonable chance of rain tomorrow so I'll probably bring the 5R and the Stainless Remington in the A5. My savage is feeling neglected though...

Anyway, it's been too long and I'll have steel and fresh ammo tomorrow!

Oh and.........REN!!!????

You rang?.....

Just keeping watch from a distance.

Ive got ammo, just hardly no time. Starting a new shotgun project that should be pretty badass when finished.

How about the 23rd?

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

300 rounds of freshly loaded 175 SMKs over 45 Gr of Varget, BR2s in 50 round lots of Win and Hornady brass : Check!

200 Rounds of 155 gr SMKs (2156), 47.5 grains of Varget, BR2s and 2xF FC cases: Check!

Looks like it should be breezy with a chance of rain but amply suitable for a morning of fine, long distance, bell ringing!

The new target stands worked out great! James came out with me to place them and I got the distinct impression he shared my doubts about their ability to remain standing from the impact of our devastatingly accurate fire.

They were stable and never once toppled. No bullet jacket frags to rip my dainty hands up and only three holes shot into the legs which I peened flat once I got them home.

These should work out fine for several more outings at least! The bases, 4"x4"s covered with 25 Gauge 3 5/8" metal track are also in great shape!

Re: shooting at manatee gun range, Florida

High Tech? Moi?

I wear a tool pouch on a daily basis mon frer!

I went with the steel angle (14 ga, available at Home Depot) because the wood verticals I previously used got pretty dangerous to handle with all the bullet jacket fragments sticking out of the surface after the first outing.

Next trip I went with the same studs but clad with 25 ga metal track. That stopped the surface penetration by the bullet jackets but they got pretty tatered up just the same. Dented and not very professional looking.

So I went with the steel angle material for replacement verts and then tested them by smacking them with a 2 lb mall (Mini sledge hammer).

While I'm sure my scientific method was sound,
laugh.gif
I was disappointed to find that the whole assembly fell backward every so often.

Of course I have been swinging a hammer for many moons and perhaps my hammer stroke is vastly more powerful than the energy delivered by 175, 168 or 155 grain bullets at 565 and 600 yards.

Not sure why, perhaps it's the trajectory of the rounds coming down into the targets as they are, but these targets are stable out there!

And it was beautiful out there yesterday!

Wow, two Weekends in a row would be almost unimaginable!

I'll think about it. Anyone else going to be there?

Ren, what do you hear from Tony and Dirt Dart these days? And What of young Commander HotFizzle?
