LRJammer, you mean they let the dogs kill the coyotes sir? What kinda dogs do they use? I bet thats a rush.
Be careful yall. Despite what keyboard tough guys say coyotes will fight back just like a wolf. They may very well be no more than 40-60 lbs but those are wild animals and life/death situations are just about an everyday occurrence for them.
We were out on a walk one time with our 2 full grown labs(one black/one yellow); yellow weighs in at 76 lbs and black at 81 lbs but the yellow is actually a better swimmer and stronger with better cardio. I think its because shes a bit more aggressive in the water and running period so she gets a better workout, and stays out there longer. But a few months ago we were out walking them through the woods(my dad and I) and they heard or smelt something suspicious in some thick brush and went up to check it out. Soon as they got there a coyote jumped out and they turned tail and ran. And this coyote was maybe a bit more than half the size of one of them. I guess taking them by surprise was what scared them so bad, that and I dont think they ever encountered an animal a lot like them that was prepared to kill or die trying. Because these two are on the level of olympic athletes. Both can run dead out at 37mph give or take for upwards of a mile next to the truck. And they aint no sissies, we get pretty rough playing and wrestling around with them.
We do have a red pitbull that I doubt would have ran. She just has a lot different personality and can really get fire in her eyes so you can tell when shes ready to let loose on a hog. Shes never faced a coyote, but based on how she handled herself against hogs Id say she could hold her own.
