Re: Short is Smart - SHR Test Build 18" 260
Well I can't say to those guessing, but I can tell you, I am using my load from my 24" Rock 260 and that is going 2850fps, not 2950, my 25" 260AI with 139grs goes 2940fps, so, I think someone's numbers are bit out there. Getting 2750fps is valid as well is getting 2850fps out of the same load in a 24" bbl, so I have that real world set of numbers to look at.
Ky, we dont' have the loads worked up yet, but we'll get there, George L from P.S.S. cut the chamber for a 142gr VLD, but I was using the 139gr Norma, so we'll see what Chad has worked up given the information for the 142gr cut. I think we'll nail it.
The long range results here at sea level have been spot on, and repeatable. 8.8 Mils to 1000 yards, hitting the sub moa target. It does it at 800 and 900 as well as all the ranges closer in. I'm getting okay groups at 100, but not what I think I could because of the chamber cut, but that was my bad for not knowing that ahead of time.
The rifle is performing, and performing better than expected.
