Old savage flat back long action that’s been trued, shilen match .308win prefit, and 5 shots of 125gr NBT going almost 3k out of the 16” bbl. I run it suppressed exclusively.

Since we are on the subject of ranch rifles, I would also reccomend a good accurate 16" AR.
My 2 favorite farm rifles are either the DT covert or this 223 POF from back when they were using Rock barrels and Gisselle triggers.
Light, accurate, and takes a beating and holds zero, killed a baby fox at 550, multiple ghogs at 300+, a red wing blackbird sized target at 267 and this mouse at 80 in the dark lol. And you have a quick follow up shot with this set up
