I like to race them!

I'm not sure I understand why being able to adjust the headspace and firing pin would be bad or inconvenient. I would think that just because you can doesn't mean you have to adjust those things. I never see having options as a negative. Unless I'm missing something?

I didn’t say it was bad.

But, I can pay for a vudoo and know exactly what ammo will run extremely well without any of the typical ammo testing that goes into a .22lr. Then you may or may not have to dick around with headspace and firing pin.

I’ve owned 4 vudoos and every one (and everyone one else I know, so probably 30+ vudoos) I can pick up sk standard plus and be easily good enough to win matches that go out to 200-250yds. If I want to extend that a little bit, I pick up center-x. Zero ammo testing needed.

So, it depends on your preference. Do you enjoy hunting for the right .22 ammo and messing with your equipment, or do you like to just hit the ground running.

+1.

The "it just works" is fantastic. They also very, very, very precisely tune that barrel/headspace/barrel tenon to be perfect for their action. So you have zero cold bore shots, etc with a V22. I listened to MB's podcast and that's why they don't sell actions, and only barreled actions because they want it perfect.

If you buy a RimX, you are basically hoping that it's all going to be put together and perfect tolerances and alignment... rather just buy a V22.

Deuce / IBI I think is a bit overpriced when I could get a V22, but I am impatient in waiting for the next gen V22, so I might end up playing with a Deuce until then... buy myself a new R700 chassis, swap in the V22 BA later.

I finally got my Tikka + IBI running SK+ and Center-X fantastic. I don't want to touch it anymore. The amount of time spent tinkering was a lot of $$ even factoring if it was just minimum wage. + ammo wasted.

And a few more....

Annealing Made Perfect's new arbor press...
View attachment 7231753

I want to know more about this... not sure what I am looking at. Is that hookup just some kind of monitoring setup for SHOT show only, or is this some kind of automated super accurate arbor press or what?

I am just getting into this stuff, but I am a tech geek kind of guy, so this might be right up my alley!

Just getting in to it and going to an automated arbor press. Youre well on your way to a reloading addiction :ROFLMAO:

I'm learning... reading and learning. And asking questions. I've got a nice rifle being built, now I need to learn how to feed it properly and shoot it well. One thing at a time, but starting with good quality components can help reduce some of the confounding variables - or so I am told. Science guy here, charts, tables, numbers, technogeek stuff is right up my alley.

I wasn't even considering using the IBI barrel. I was thinking of going with a bartlien, lijia, Krieger, or some other rimfire blank. I see where you both are coming from.

that trigger looks awesome been waiting for that one. i like the ruger binary trigger as well

you like PCP's? I want to upgrade fromym maruader.

Of all the PCP's I can think of I'd get a used FX ROYAL 400 or 500. Imo it's a solid air rifle at a reasonable price. I could go on and on why I fault the direction FX and most airgun companies have gone.

I've been incredibly impressed with the Taipan Veteran. The 2 stage trigger is really, really good and adjustable. You can adjust the speed from 400 fps to ~1000 fps. It's very accurate, and at a really good price for it's features.

I didn't want to derail Frank's photo thread any further.

Anyone visiting the RRS booth, please post pictures of their bino mount. Preferably all sides, and showing the strap tightened and loosened using the release lever.....I NEED to know now, haha.

Thanks man!! Those pictures are very helpful!

Is it correct to say that for a dual bridge bino (I.e Leica HD-B) that mount would pretty much live on the barrel? Or does the “clamp” completely open to allow the binos to easily detach?

How solid did the binos feel mounted up?

Thanks again!

RRS new 2 section leg tripod and new design head for PRS. Not out yet but will be "soon" It was quick to deploy and the head was quick one hand adjustment.??

That looks nice, how stiff is the strap, looks just like nylon but it would be nice if it was the stiffer rubber coated that holds it shape. That said I wish RRS would just work on their production volume, the Anvil 30 has basically been vaporware for a year.

You would loose the "quick" release I say. The bail is pinned at the top flips to lock down tention. It would remove easy but would probably "live" on mine if I had that style. It did feel solid all considered.

It tracks seating force and logs and graphs that force over distance into the case. If you then take those rounds to the field, and say, had a flier, you could go back and see if there was an issue with neck tension etc. Lots of other possibilities not thought of yet, too.

Did u feel the TT 2 stage diamond?

Yes, it’s decent. But the first stage is pretty short travel and not adjustable for travel.

And to be fair they had the break weight turned way down (cause that’s what everyone wants ?) so it was hard to really get a good feel.

As of right now, no longer interested enough to replace my TT single stages

You might have just saved me TT money I can now spend on an Atlas Super CAL since I had to sit Kasey's pre-order out and let the credit card cool down some.

You can buy the action alone.

We were busy raising money for AmericanSnipers.org, and this year the show floors seemed less crowded than prior years.

Many nice chassis, but nothing out there we liked better than McRee G10.

Lots of milk crates on wheels, and "support" dogs.

Some nice stuff from Defiance already talked about.

Timney HIT trigger is great and they have a new AR15 trigger.

New Frontier Armory coming out with a 300WM AR.

The Glock 43x and G44 were pretty neat.

Nothing earth shattering this year, but still a good time.

Wait, wait, wait

The chassis that does literally nothing better than an XLR, MPA, or MDT??? Please tell me why.

MPA & XLR are great, and I own THREE MDTs too (rimfire). I like the G10 overall the best. The cheek rest plates, the hinge, the mag release, the weight, the balance, just everything feels better than the other brands. Everyone has different tastes. Your mileage may vary. Buy whatever makes YOU happy.
