I’m surprised no one has brought up the topic: who could miss a shot that close. None of this makes any sense to me. Secret service not seeing the shooter, when people from the crowd have said they saw the shooter, some time before the shooting. Anybody willing to put themself in a position as a shooter, should be able to make that shot off hand.
Technically according NRL22 rules.....that was a hit pal. And any NRL22 shooter would be bitching and moaning that they would have to do any offhand shots. Common Group size being 1.25" or more at that range. Add stress. Add wind. Add cold bore shift. Missing by 4" is nothing. We had a State Championship here where people had to (at their leisure) go hit a playing card at 100yds for a chance to win a bipod. Many missed the whole damn card...let alone hit center of it. And these are people who shoot rimfire regularly.

He was rushed. Saw a video of bystanders yelling, “he’s got a gun!” moments before the first shot. He knew he’d been made and likely rushed the shot. Add to that he probably wasn’t well trained and likely drugged up and you get a miss. I also think he may have hit a teleprompter or something else between him and DJT.
