currently own a g1 and g2 razor and i am very happy with both. so im strongly leaning towards just buying another g2 razor becuase i know it and i know i like it. but on the other side of the coin i slightly interested in seeing what else is out there. i havent personally had the opportunity to look through an F1 atacr or an AMG but i know there highly coveted optics.
i got to do an extensive side by side between the g2, NF Beast, and K24i and found i liked the G2 the best given its price point vs the other 2.
i know that any will serve me well but is there anyone out there who owns both the G2 and a NF ATACR F1? if so do you have a favorite.
thanks

I have had a gen 2 for a few years now and a gen 1 for a while before that. I just got an AMG mounted up today on my long range hunting rifle. Some observations from my short time with it today is that the eye box seems a bit tougher to get behind than the gen two. That may be because of the tube size and objective size I'm not sure. It is by no means bad but the gen 2 really spoils you with its FOV and very forgiving eye box. The second observation is the turrets are more tactile and audible. The gen 2 is good, no complaints but the AMG is very reminiscent of a premier to me. They are awesome. It's definitely a win for me for what I am using it for. If it's a hard use dedicated tactical rifle that's going to potentially be used as a hammer or something then I'd stay with the gen 2. If it's a hunting rifle, do all rifle or something like that then I'd go AMG. I don't feel that the AMG is weak or anything like that but I do feel if you smashed it an a gen 2 together until one broke it would be the gen 2 walking away victorious.

so...
what are you using it for?

I don't own an atacr but I have shot them right next to my G2 razor quite a bit. After having 2 other precision rifles with reticles I like a lot, I thought the Mil-r on the NF'S I used to be way to heavy & thick for my tastes & the position of the scope cap on the rotating ocular was annoying. Glass was probably a push, hard to say. I would base your decision on if you think you're going to be happy with the reticle choices assuming you don't mind dropping the extra bucks as well. I'd recommend you try to find a way to look through one before you lay down the money. IMO the G2 razor doesn't give anything up (except some weight) to the other two scopes With all the goodies I'd like to add to the load shack with the difference in cost, for me it would be a no brainer!

I've been thinking the same thing. Nightforce is dead in the water to me, Price, Poor reticle in MOA, tunneling at low power. I have a gen 2 4.5-27x56. I'm thinking 3-18x50 for a 308 I have sitting around not selling here on the PX? The wait for the PST gen 2 5-25x50 is killing me!! Just sold/traded a Athlon Cronus.

What didn't you like about the 624i?

I didn't see the benefit the extra 500$ gets me vs a g2 razor. The reticle was cool and it had a nice fov but I give the g2 a slight edge in glass. Splitting hairs tho.
same reason I'm leaning towards the g2 again over the atacr. I just like to hear others thoughts

I think the Khales bucks the norms here. Left side windage, Parallax on top. 30mm tube with 56mm objective. Not sure of the weight, but I'd imagine its less than Vortex Razor gen2. I looked through one and the reticle was impressive, skmr? It was like a Vortex ERB-7C? I liked it a lot but it was in MILS and I shoot MOA.

Price and no tree MOA reticle or the only hold offs for me.

I've tried two Gen II Razors and the reticle just isn't bold enough for me. Loved the scopes. Glass was great. Turrets were great and I didn't mind the weight but had trouble with the thin reticle. I like the Atacr reticle and glass is great but would rather have the Razor if it had a little bolder reticle.

That must have been an older Generation Kahles, plus the price difference isn't always that bad

The Vortex Razor HD Gen II vs NF ATACR F1 ; witch is better scope ? ? ?

I have opportunity trade my Vortex Razor Gen II 3-18X50 + $$$$ to The NightForce 5-25×56 ATACR model C546 scope

Is for my NEMO 20" barrel 308 ( AR10 )

I don't think I'd say that one scope is better than the other. Just different. The Razor definitely has a thinner reticle however the Atacr doesn't have an overly thick reticle, just bolder. You don't have the Christmas tree reticle with the Atacr but it's still a nice, usable reticle. Glass might be a little nicer in the Atacr but not enough to matter, IMO. The nice thing that I like about the Razor is 10 mil per rev and the second rev indicator. The Atacr has 12 mil per rev and no second rev indicator. If you're like me then you're alway on a quest to find the best scope but sometimes I wish I could go back to my Gen I Razor, my first quality scope, and save all of the money I've spent on trading up on glass.

Just purchased a Kahles 624i yesterday from Mike at CST cut me a nice savings. Should arrive next week Did research for longer than I care to admit. I was so tempted to grab a good deal from Mile High on a S&B, reticle selection was the deal breaker.
Field test will be conducted next week.

Thank you for your business! You'll be extremely pleased with your new Kahles

Congrats on your new scope. I have never layed eyes on a Kahles. I bought the Vortex Razor HD II and absolutely love it! Purchased directly from Vortex with a hefty military discount. Outstanding scope and outstanding customer service!!!
