Got some pretty decent pictures of the shuttle today as it flew overhead on its tour of LA before landing at LAX. I drove up into the hills not far from my house and found a spot that gave a good view of Griffith Observatory way off in the distance and a pretty good expanse towards JPL, although a few houses and trees blocked my view of JPL itself. Here are some of the pictures, I cropped them down but kept it the same size otherwise, had a pretty good view I though, was real close.

Re: Shuttle

Thanks guys, I'll admit, it was a little emotional, end of an era, that was the last time for a shuttle to be in the air. While I don't remember the first failure, I think I was three, but I watched both shuttles explode live on TV. It was the closest I've ever been to a shuttle, I'm definitely going to go visit it at the Science museum in a few months when they open the exhibit.

Re: Shuttle

Those are some great pictures!

Too bad our pissass federal admistration has cut NASA to a bare bones operation. Notice that our astronauts are riding other countries rockets and we aren't doing squat.
