you guys better practice up for bigs match my wife will be shooting and she has only shot a rifle 2 times in her life and if you lose to her which will probably be her 5th time firing a rifle of any kind i will never let you hear the end of it.

It's nice that your wife is shooting. Mine shot a little before we got married, she's a better shot with a pistol than me(or used to be anyway.) I can't seem to get here interested in popping a cap these days.

Not to throw a wrench into your plans, but one of the stages is going to be a team command fire stage. I can make exceptions if needed tho. I'm prepared for an odd # of shooters.
I'm pretty sure I have all tgt's I need, but may need some hangers. I'm still on the hunt. I'll give you a call.

No pics until she is dressed up right with her new rings and scope. For once i followed the tribe rifle mentality go big or go home. hopefully it will be able to compete with the mighty aw 300wm.

just so you guys don't think i am trying to hide anything. It is a Sako trg 22 with benchmark 26" 9tw fluted braked 7mm08 with sako bipod, near rings/bases, and topped with a s&b 5-25x56 ccw, mil/mil h2cmr reticle.

Hopefully this rifle will end my streak of recycling rifles and changing them like i change my underwear. I am not going to hold my breath because i have a disease called rifle a.d.d. bad, but if this doesn't satisfy me i don't know wtf will.

Hopefully my secondary project will be done and my wife will be rocking a pof ar 10 build with a benchmark 6.5cm or 260 on it for the match, but the time maybe to tight to get it finished.

If any of you guys ar looking for a fine shooting ar 10 I will be parting ways with my rock river arms lar 8 varmint with 22" threaded barrel (5/8x24). With the right mags (don't use old fal mags i found out after numerous jams) it is a absolute hammer. i was able to go 14 for 14 at 485 with it at findlay cup. it will print 1/2" groups at 100yds with my handload (I will share data with buyer of course). I am only selling because i am building a ar 10 in 6.5mm currently and finacially i can't afford to keep both. I will have pics and details by end of day thurs. would rather keep this local so my pricing will reflect it. pm me for more details or call me and i can discuss it with you cell 360 632 6482

I did some testing today.
1st was to fire 4 loads with Hornady's new 225gr .308 HPBT. I did a ladder test last week, & fired 2 loads of Retumbo, & 2 loads of H-1000. I settled on the 76.5gr of Retumbo. I got 2856fps with an ES of 15fps. More testing is in order with those. They may trump my 208 A Max's depending on the actual BC. I'll load some more of this load to test that on the next day it isn't raining...
Next I tried my hand @ anealing some 3rd fired Win brass. Belt sized, FL Sized, didn't need to trim, & loaded them up with my usual 75.5gr of H-1000, & 208 A Max.
I fired a 5 rnd group @ my 930yd target (Abdul), & was pleasantly supprised.
5 rnds just below, & left of center mass are them. I let a couple newbies try it, & they were able to hit too, just not in my group. Target is 18" wide.

Thanks for the compliments. I was kinda proud of that group. Especially since I had witnesses.
I'm going to try 20 of the new 225's with 76.5gr of Retumbo head to head against the A Max. The 225 won't out perform the 208 @ the MV I'm getting, but it's close enough that if it will group as well, or better I may have a serious decision to make between the two.

Morning Folks- Looks like it's going to be a nice day to shoot. The wild turkeys are gobbling around the house, there's a light coat of frost on the ground, and the thermometer says 31 degrees. The flagging hung out on the range is barely moving, and the steel has a fresh coat of paint. I think I'll have another cup of coffee and then send a few downrange. Have a great day. What an awesome day for shooting!! Hell what an awesome day of shooting!! Hunter121, HSSS and myself all got together today to see what the short barreled 260's would do at 1 mile. Yep 1760 yards, our targets were those big ass silhouttes I built (18"x30") with the flappers. I can say that the 260 doesn't have enough ass to open the flap at 1760, but it did move it.

I cant compliment Hunter121 enough on his shooting!! That guy has been shooting Long Range for 3 weeks and he pulled the best group of the day!!

Thanks to HSSS and his associates for building my Obermeyer barreled 260. I only hit it once, but I was happy with that. Just leaves loads of room for improvement on my part. Not to sound like an excuse maker, but when the sun came out of the clouds and all we could see of the target was a mirage....I shouldv'e stopped shooting.

Hunter and HSSS were impressed with the group I put on the rock 1' to the left of the target, I wouldv'e been real impressed if I wouldv'e put it on the plate. They say it was like 8", I was so pissed that I could put a group like that on a damn rock 1' off to the left, but couldn't get it on the plate.

Winds were shifty from tail winds to head winds and 3 different wind reads from our FFP to the target made it more than interesting. We were all surprised at the nose in hits from both 260's at that distance, not a single sideways hit.

IT WAS QUITE DIFFICULT TO SPOT HITS AT 1 MILE WITH THE 260. EVEN UNDER SPOTTING SCOPE AT 45X.

Hunter121-Nemesis 20" 260 142 SMK took 90 MOA up
mm509-22" Obermeyer 260 140 AMAX took around 26.1 mils (we are pretty sure I was hitting behind the target more than in line with it, no more excuses)

Once again my hats off to Hunter, what a job of driving his rifle, in the not so perfect conditions.

Well I really can not add to much more to what Matt has said, big thanks to JD (HSSS) for setting this up and inviting me down. Big thanks to you Matt for spotting for me and allowing me to get those 6 hits, I would have never done it with out you. I honestly did not think I would even have enough ass with the 260 to get to a mile let alone hit the target. That last picture with the 6 hits measured out at about 10"x14.

I will say that if we knew what we figured out with my last 15 shots ( the 6 hits w/ 9 misses) we would have all been hitting the target a lot more. Basicly we were seeing hits to the sides of the target but did not realize that those hits were actually 20-30yds behind the target and we were shooting over. We learned alot today, I know I certainly did.

Matt, I will say bud....that group on that rock was impressive. I really wish we could have got you in on that target as you would have had a killer group.

I will say again, I never imagined the 260 would make it and would have called BS until actually seeing and doing it today.

Forgot to add that I had a 20moa base + NF Unimount with 20moa as well so I had 40moa added to my scope. My zero at 100yds is 15moa from the bottom which should give me 95moa on the top end per NF specs. I actually had 97moa before I topped out.

I also had 21moa left dialed in for wind, and towards the end of the day when I shot this group we had a bit of tailwind as well.
