So much for Trump being "Pro Gun"

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed about this. It's making him no friends yet he's losing a lot from this.

Under Obama, even after 8 years of blowhard bullshit, nothing happened. Now we get a guy who literally said that our 8 years of assault on the 2nd Amendment are over, bans a firearm device and does absolutely NOTHING as of yet to either dis-embolden the dumb fuck gun grabbing liberals nor strengthen the 2nd Amendment at all. Things like SCOTUS appointments for judges that are 2nd Amendment leaning are luck at this point; not 'he selected them because of their 2nd Amendment stance'.

We have had a Republican president, house and senate for 2 years and we have reinforced the 2nd Amendment less than under Obama.

Now, I don't have a bumpstock. Personally I thought they were retarded. However, someone may think a 30 round mag or an adjustable butt stock is retarded so we can never go off of feelings or what some people think. Never. Yet now, this weird firearm device has them trying to update and change the definition of a machine gun and trigger pull; think about that. Without any representation from elected officials and no debate, an agency has basically tried to re-write an existing rule so that it will conform to their new rulings. It's basically make shit up as you go at this point.

This is EXACTLY the reason why you don't try and reason with liberals. This is why you don't have a 'common sense conversation' about gun rights. This is why the answer is always fuck NO. Because otherwise, you end up where gun owners are; on the high road getting fucked from below an inch at a time, only to realize that we've lost miles of ground.

Don't turn shit in. Buy more ammo. Completely reorganize the fucking wolf in sheeps clothing that is the NRA. Read the Gulag Archipelago if you think you 'can't do anything' or there's 'no way to beat them' or the government is 'too big'.

100% agree. I know the GOA is already filing against this ruling and there will be more. I personally am going to start calling my congressional members and writing letters.

While I hope this can be sorted out in court, I'll be stock piling ammo just in case. Thanks for the recommendation on the book! I'll add it to my reading list.

While we're a bit ahead of ourselves, there's a passage/quote from the book thats stuck with me since forever. I've had other people I know read just this quote and think about it to understand not just the historic reason for it, but the overall philosophy. We're slowly creeping into a time where things that were said as an over exaggeration are coming to light; things like an actual violent liberal/left, cities/states openly saying that they consider door to door confiscations an option, millions of gun owners being turned into felons overnight due to a stupid gun accessory and a growing number of liberal/anti gun citizens actually advocating seizure/home raids/execution of conservatives and/or gun owners.

10 years ago I would have laughed at you had you thought thats how things were. Well, that's how things actually are.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

― Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn

Did they outlaw the binary triggers as well?

No this was all bump stocks. Hilariously, I don't even think they know WTF binary triggers are.

Remember, all this is is the same bullshit reactive 'legislation' in response to something that happened once, to make you look like 'you did something' when in reality, it just makes you look dumb.

You don't know what a binary trigger is?

It's the shoulder thing that goes up, man. I thought that has been covered before

That's also kind of the problem.

They have ZERO idea as to WTF they are even making decisions on. That's why our political system is a disaster because the zero knowledge phenomenon ranges from firearms, to healthcare to the economy to how shit actually works.

Think its a coincidence that anything government gets involved with has a 100% chance to suck and fail?

Im getting weary of the winning....

We were having a good run but as Trump gets backed into a corner and more isolated not only by the coup plotters but the rest of the Deep State I think he will bargain many of the things he was fighting for.

I understand the wall demand is down to 1.6 Billion from what was originally 25 Billion down to 5 Billion.

Mother fucker better go full retard with the power of the Presidency or he will find himself looking like us cakeless gun owners.

His compromising is only viewed as weakness and will be met with harder and more effective attacks.

Shit bird better start bringing on the sunlight and working with/for the People or he is done.

....and I want to know the full story of "something that happened once".

Im not buying man brings 17 weapons into hotel room and stages them, than uses the most effective operating bump stock that was ever devised based on the recordings but decides to off himself despite no real pressure or without fighting the PO.

The most recorded place in the world and we have no images of what went on.

You know who will fight that. Current MG owners, as they stand to take a huge hit on their investment if the supply opens up.

I see people say this all the time about amnesty or repealing Hughes, yet every single person that owns MGs I've talked to has said they'd LOVE to see Hughes repealed so they could stop paying overinflated prices for modern designs. The vintage/historical stuff isn't going to take much of a hit (if any) simply because there are only so many WWI/II/etc original MGs floating around, and modern clones wouldn't hold the same appeal to collectors.

Maybe those elitist fucks that run the machine gun group that works with the ATF.

I've never meant a mg owner that wouldn't welcome new mgs regardless if their "investment" is decimated. I would gladly lose my mgs value if I could buy new ones.

A bunch of them wouldn't lose much if any value because they are rare on their own accord.

Am I the only one that thinks that this may be a case that's pretty easy to defeat on purpose?

Are you suggesting its three dimensional chess?

Im sure Q is saying this is a win.

This is a huge precedent.

Ex Post facto law with uncompensated confiscation.

Man the wolves are licking their chops.

I'm not saying I'm right, I've seen that type of strategy in California but we lose more than we win here...

Republican and democratic politicians both want you disarmed for their safety and to rule without fear. We are a Nation of sheep in case you haven't noticed, you voted for these people upon which they continue to remove your 2nd amendment rights.I guess its payback for bullying these dweebs in school as they cowered in the halls walking amongst you. They never protested nor challenge anyone but they knew one day they would make you pay, hence the saying the Pen is mightier than the sword or in our case AR15. We live in the wrong part of the world to be totally free of rule, little social experiment try using a Pen to disarm the Taliban.........

Why anyone voted for him is something I'll never understand.

Don't get me wrong though, this wasn't a statement in favor of Clinton by any measure. The citizens of the USA where given two very bad choices, vote for a criminal, or vote for someone who wants to take the guns away and give our tax dollars to people who don't want to work. It was a "pick your poison" election.
How's that fence feeling up your ass?
Go the fuck away with your bullshit.

I don't like what Trump did either. However, let's look at this from another perspective.

Trump wasn't a "gun guy." He never was and probably will never be a "gun guy." With that said, someone like that with mostly good intentions will take his lead from the NRA.

They are widely perceived as being the all-knowing experts in anything to do with firearms. So it's only natural that someone like Trump would take his cue from the NRA, believing that the organization speaks for 99% of all gun owners.

I've been a life member for almost 40 years. Yet my donations stopped when they acquiesced to the McClure-Volkmer act of 1986. That's when newly manufactured machine guns were banned from sale to the general public. The NRA stabbed us in the back on that one.

Ever since then, the NRA has rolled over like a whore on a Saturday night in order to appear "reasonable." That's done nothing but hurt us.

After the NRA stabbed us in the back by saying they believe that bump stocks should be regulated like other NFA items I told them that my message could be summed up in two words. The first word beginning with the 5th letter of the alphabet and the second word beginning with the 25th letter.

So it is not only Trump who stabbed us in the back but the NRA. So when they come calling on you for donations, you need to let them know how you feel. I won't give them anymore money as they are our own worst enemy at times.

It's sort of like your wife when she's faithful to you 364 days a year but decides to give the entire 5th fleet oral sex on only one day of the year. That's the NRA.

I gave up on the NRA years ago because of their BS. The Las Vegas coroner wasn’t even done tagging toes and there is ‘ol Wayne La Pierre on the national news talking about how the NRA believes there should be a ban on bump stocks. Dumb ass. Range TOY should have been used as a negotiation tool at the very least. But no, the NRA is willing to negotiate before they even know what the other side would ask for.

I heard a guy mention before that the NRA actually prefers Democrats in office because it’s better for their bottom line. Sounds about right.

As long as folks think there are only two options for potus that's all we'll have. The guy that truly represented less gov't (and I don't think Johnson would have entertained this ban) was ridiculed by selective media cuts and got only 3% of my state. It doesn't have to eternally be a decision between two main parties who are each figuring out different ways of ripping off our grandkids.
