So...what's ur occupation?

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

You were a Crew Chief?

I have a question.

Why do yall wear all that shit, when all you do is jump out and throw the chock-block down?

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Because thats what Uncle Sam said to do, take care of the 731 Forms, and chock the Aircraft, remember the Army is NOT trusted with the use and care of nuclear weapons.

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Grading foreman (the guy you see in the white pickup wearing the orange vest running around screaming at the guys on the tonka toys...).

Gonna figure out how to make a living doing something I like one of these days.............

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Electrical Engineer/Project Manager, making sure the electrical contractor DOESN'T wire the pump controls the way the design idiots drew them on the Contract Prints. Holy shit, do they get their degrees from the guys selling phony drivers licenses?? Only one more year, and I'm outta here. Build rifles full time, then.

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

Electrical engineer by education, electro-optics system (defense) engineer by work.....yeah, I do a lot of optics in all wavelengths and the sights I work on see much further than Schmidt and Bender.

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

I am the Director of Facilities Management for a CCRC (Continuous Care Retirement Community).

Well, I know that I don't have a quite as exciting job as alot of you guys do, but I get to make a difference in the lives of the elderly every day.

I have anywhere between 285 to 300 residents that depend on me, so my job is still very rewarding in that sense. Money ain't too bad, but that is what you get for working for a non-profit orginization...

That's a lot of folks to have depend on you for the quality of their lives. Do a good job (I'm sure you don't have to be told that).

Re: So...what's ur occupation?

I design custom large tonnage water chillers/Air Conditioning, I design custom large tonnage water chillers/Air Conditioning, 150 ton up to 8,000 ton.
Some of our chillers contracts have been for the World Trade Center, Burj Dubai, Petronas Towers, Sidney Opera House, Kremlin, Smithsonian Museums, Chemical plants, Plastics plants, Ethanol plants, Central Utility plants, anyplace that needs a whole lot of cold.

Every job is different and we are up to our eyeballs in work. It seems that chilling is always in season.

I love my job, it’s the work I can’t stand!

As far as doing a good job, I myself, as well as my crew, treat all of the residents here as if they are our family. I have come to appreciate all of them, and some I hold very dear to my heart. I got out of the corporate world where I felt that I was just a number, and I can actually make a difference.

To my residents, I am Donnie, or DK, or the maintenance man with the fish hook in his hat!! LOL!! ;)~

Couple things...1) Hard to do that if ssh (22) isn't allowed out unless using something like SSL Explorer (proxy aware). In that case, a time based heuristic will show you are sitting on a site for longer than the normal "surf time"...with a connection open. Once again, we watch you when you think no one is looking. You learn something now and again from a 320,000 node network. One last thing, that little circumvention you speak of with tunneling will cost you your job where I work.

Think outside the box. SSH doesn't have to run on port 22.

The only hope security has in restricting users is by making it hard enough that people don't want to find a way around it, or just shut it off.
