At this point, the Soviets -- er, Russians... have a huge amount of armor and troops massing on the Ukrainian border. Hundreds of tanks. Seems Crimea was not enough for Vladimir Stalin -- er, Putin.

They have a long tradition of attacking at Christmas... like 39 years ago.

Anyone want to bet that Europe is faced with a shooting war to their East? While they've been spending their money on Muslims and putting squat toilets in all their rest areas... and writing 400 page regulations governing cabbage-transportation... seems that the Russkies are about to expand their empire. Again.

Hope I am wrong here, but this is looking ominous.

Oh, yeah, where's the news on this one? Has anyone in the media talked about it?

Guess they're too busy trying to get Trump.

Cheers,

Sirhr

P.S. Watch "The Crossing" with Jeff Daniels...an outstanding "Christmas" film about this attack.

How dare they...when we were so close to adding another former sov nation to NATO...for the children. Other than the possibility of everyone I care for getting heated to 3500 deg over a place I don't care about...no fucks given, I reckon.

Actually you are missing the local info absent in MSM for any analysis

Petro Poroshenko - president of Ukraine is facing reelection and polls are showing he has no chance of winning reelection , so age old tactic drum up some tensions. Issue is loosing elections doesnt get you cushy, multi milion $ speeches and 'pretend-a-charity' to build presidential library in present day Ukraine, it more likely than not gets you and your family jail time and freezing of assets or life on the run(happened to all Ukrainean presidents to date)
Martial law he declared is just one of the maneuvers to delay or even suspend the elections
http://euromaidanpress.com/2018/10/...ts-on-fear-of-russia-in-bid-to-get-reelected/

Nothing will happen (Petro tweeted iminent invasion too many times to count only one worse was some asshole ->General Breedlove he was shiting pants on weekly basis) , Russia so far will not recognise LNR and DNR and ha no desir eto get involved if not needed .But if Ukrainians attack and Donbass can't hold their own ,Russia will intervene and snuf out anything Ukraine can field. Then of course it will likely reconginse LNR and DNR and anex them

Russia has litle interest in land ,population numbers are more important, Russia only has 1.8% of world population while possesing 20% of all worlds natural resources and 11% of world land mass

But for people that do not know the region ,Donbass the 'separatist' region was prior to war Ukraines industrial powehouse with mostly Russian population , coal and iron lands, interesting fact is that since ww2 till the courrent war it hosted Soviet military reserve gear stock ,enough to arm 4 million men , at present Donbas milita fields more tanks than whole of NATO Europe.

One thing that MSM and politicians totaly overlook is religious aspect for many involved this war

Interesting read !

MSM reporting on war in Ukraine is quite poor ,just a lines they are feed in offical press reports , they have no people on the ground.

Sorry for the poor graphics but after whooping 4.700$ spent on Russia gate Google ads that is all Russian catering firm could pay for.......... ROFL

Shooting's been going on for a while.

Ukraine Combat footage 2018

How the fuck do they know who they are shooting at? All I seen in a lot of that as I skimmed it was random shooting in a direction. Don’t know if it’s enemy or friendly. How do they know? See that’s a serious problem. This was some amateur bullshit lol, at least the parts I seen. This seems more like rogue factions of militia gents running around than a coordinated effort of any kind. Anyways....

Most of the killing is done with artilery and at height of the fighting huge numbers of armor were used , terrain is flat and long open fields a tank country

Now days its mostly small unit actions , harrasing fire and shellin and both sides are dug in trenches

The idea that Russia may invade to save the poor ethnic Russian population is complete bullshit. Great excuse (been done before) but bullshit. A quick glance at a map explains the why. Not that I give a fuck about Ukraine. We refuse to us our mil for it's one main purpose so the rest of the world can take a number and get fucked. We should probably disband our mil and sell off the assets.

While BR makes a good case, I would also add that the Ukraine was always called 'the breadbasket of the Soviet Union'.

And, more importantly, its splitting off the "Empire" in the early 1990's was a blow to the Soviets and, now, the Russians who really kind of regarded it as part of their 'turf.' NATO discussions have not helped, as the Sov's -- er Russians -- don't want NATO on their front porch no matter what.

I don't think the idea of an annexation makes sense from a strategic or economic sense at all. BR is certainly right there. But I am not sure it doesn't make sense from the point of an egomaniac like Putin who longs for the days of Soviet power.

The guy has a lot of "O6 disease" in him. Just high enough rank to be 'somebody' but never made general and that was always someone else's fault. So now, like lots of tinpot former Colonels, he is going to show why he should have been HMFIC back then, by restoring the status quo back to a time when he was in his glory. It's always the Colonels ;-)

Anyway, I am not writing this one off to Petro crying wolf. Yet. Has he done that in the past? Yup. Then again, he did lose the Crimea and there were lots of little green men running around, too.

But, then again... not NATO. Not our AO. Not, technically, our problem. If Vlad the Putin wants Ukraine, will suck for the Ukrainians, but then again, when have things not sucked for them? Sucks to be at the crossroads of empires. Whatever happens, will be TV worth watching, right?

Cheers,

Sirhr
