I bought my origin specifically because my nucleus shit the bed more than once during matches. From light primer strikes, to bolt knobs falling off, to magazines experiencing follower dive. Everything I own that has ARC on it has failed me while on the clock more than once. My origin has been flawless since I bought it.

I’m sure the arc actions are great. I personally find them to be ugly as sin. I can’t get past it.
I wouldn't be so sure. By the time I was able to fix my light primer strikes, my bolt lift is terrible.
Did you go to a match without putting a dab of loktite on a threaded bolt knob?
Meh. I never had a single light primer strike with the OG 16lb spring.
Sample size of 2 and it’s 50/50.
My Archimedes has been flawless as well. I do make sure things are where they belong before and after shooting though.

If you want to run a 6.5 PRC and 6.5 creed I would get the Origin Medium. I went that route for the PRC so I can run the longer projectiles without being limited to mag length.
I started with a Predator , still have it along with a Zeus, Impact, Deviant, Atlas and TL3. I recently purchased two Origins, medium and long. I’m happy with the Origin’s, I started off at the time with a decent aftermarket action for its time (Stiller Predator). They all have things I like and don’t like about them, but depending on what I plan on using them for, they all shoot well and no major issues. I’ve learned to appreciate CRF with manual ejectors over push feed. Just my opinion.
Meh, I have all of those, and some more, and I have no regret in getting an origin off a cert for a .223 that I’m shooting more than anything else at the moment. I’d easily pick up another cert to get another.
That said, if I’m going premium on everything and paying whole hog, what’s another $400?
My nuc gen2 and Archimedes have been 100% trouble free. Arc mags when kept clean run excellent. Not that big a fan the xylo. Theit mbrace rings/mounts have been great. There were definitely some growing pains and teething when the nuc and mausingfield came to market with constant upgrades and iterations, agree with that.
I have found that my brake causes quite a bit of dust to kick up while shooting. After matches, I've got a good bit of dust on my rifle and optic. Over a 2 day match, am I really supposed to break apart my magazine and clean it mid-match? That's funny, because I've never cleaned my accurate mags and I've never had a problem with them.

Eventually, barrels will be changed. But with a good action that lasts, that is all one has to change. Granted, I am the stupidest guy but the above statement makes good sense to me.

I bought a M5 Mausingfield, ran like a top from day 1, bought an Archimedes, swapped the cocking piece to match my trigger, and it was perfect, grabbed a Nuc 2.0 - flawless.

Like the other folks who run Origins have said in this thread, mine isn't prone to binding, and I've had my share of binding bolt actions. A few thousand rounds down, but it's been slick as shit for a while, I suppose I might be able to bind it if I really tried to apply my tard powers to the situation, but that's not really a test that provides useful information.
I like that the Origin can take two of the most common prefits you see around, Origin and TL3 (with an HL lug). I picked up a .223 TL3 proof prefit and an extra bolt head from my local shop the other day that was sitting around, they stock Proof prefits, but all you'll see is Zermatt. Probably because there are a Brazillion Zermatt actions out there chugging along. Feeds fine from a plastic .223 MDT mag so far btw.
Origin + TT Diamond and good scope, it's hard to figure out what you're giving up functionality wise to some of the higher priced actions other than a few bells and whistles that you may or may not care about. Maybe it's worth paying more if you care, maybe it's not if you don't.

He is 100% right. You've had good luck, which is awesome. I'm not the only one in my shooting circle that has had their ARC shit the bed mid-match. My buddy sold his 1st Gen nuc with no more than a couple matches under his belt.

I've had a bunch of different actions and the M5 Mausingfield is arguably my favorite.
I know the nuke has been hit or miss for some, and there's been a few revisions, but my Mausingfield has been nothing short of impressive.
I think many people would feel better if the Origin was a few hundred dollars more..... Automaticly loses the "budget" stigma, and then certain people can sleep easy at night knowing their action is expensive

Impact firing pins will never let you down, Lone Peaks will never eject certain spent cases when using certain scope mounts straight back into the action, Defiance would never make a rear pic rail so idiotic as the one on the anti-x, Terminus would never mill bolt stops from marshmallows, and ARC would never release a 3rd version of the most perfect toroidal action ever made in as many years as it’s been on the market.
Now you don’t have to feel targeted.
Every time I try to bring myself to order an ARC CDG I can’t help but think about how much more perfect the V1.5 and then V2 will be that I’ll then have to buy, getting suckered deeper and deeper into the cult with reckless abandon of the irony. If it lasts a few years without a new version I’ll eat my short and buy one, as I’d like to support the mad scientist; I just don’t want to be part of the experiment.
Currently I have an impact(second one), old surgeon with god knows how many rounds through it, tikka and an origin. I love them all and have never had problems with any of them. The origin is very interesting though but has just a single quarkk. Mine doesn’t like single breach feeding, which I do frequently. The extractor catches the back edge of the case rim kind of hard. It doesn’t have near the mileage of the other two yet so there still may be a possibility of a failure I haven’t seen yet.
To sum it all up I’ll probably just buy more impacts honestly regardless of the use.

I have no regrets about my origin. But I only have one precision rifle. And there are days I kick myself for not just spending the extra 400$ for a top shelf action.
With a family and all that comes with it, I can’t afford another rifle. But I could have swung $400 dollars more for a “better” action.

Let me re phrase. I have nothing against the origin , it’s been great. In hindsight, I do regret not just buying a top shelf action for a few hundred more. Even if there’s no performance increase, I still wish I had.
I can only budget for one rifle, I wish I had bought the one I wanted rather than trying to save a buck in the long run
If the interchangeable bolt head is your sole desire, take a look at kauger arms. The owner has worked with Alex Wheeler a fair bit on this action pertaining to the ignition system for timing, pin fall, and firing pin drag that occurs in most switch bolts. The CRS line is available with and without trigger hanger. They are more popular in the benchrest would, but I have read nothing but great reports.
Buy what you want, Origin or otherwise, just let the features and reputation guide you rather than price-point because that doesn't mean much sometimes.
Take AIs for example, I know some guys are crazy about them, but I don't get it. I got to shoot another one yesterday, probably the 10th AI I've spent some time with... it easily cost over $10K+... and it sucked (just like the rest I've tried). I wouldn't trade my Origin/TT/Proof/Manners for it unless it was just to flip it, buy another Origin/TT/Proof/Manners, and pocket the difference.

Been halfway looking for a .223 trainer Tikka to go along with my Tikka in 6.5 manbun, but ended up not finding what I was looking for so I put my name into the queue for an Origin in .223
Now to figure out barrel, trigger, chassis, etc

I've got a TL3, it feels bindy when just playing with the bolt on a bench but behind the gun it feels very smooth. Someone next to me at the range commented that it even sounded smooth haha. Might be the controlled round feed at work. It's not necessarily the latest and greatest but it works for me. Though I have been meaning to try one of those 60 degree actions....
until I see more actual good news (prefits) and videos (heavy and clunky) from the Solus (over a time period, not single samples) there's absolutely no way I'd buy one over an origin for the same rough cost
well i'm certainly not gonna spend MY money on one given the very hit or miss results so far. same reason I won't preorder an ARC even though a mausingfield is one of my favorite actions

A couple of my buddies shot the Solus at range day at shot show and said it was dogshit. Glad you like yours though. There are people who think Savages are good actions and feel good, and there are people who will swear a Tikka action is as good as any custom action...
I get it. But someone saying they know better about something because they read on the internet, vs in hand T&E report…yeah.
