Speaking of stimulus

Pence now speaking (I really like him). Thanking Americans for the past two weeks, then the next thirty days. On Tuesday full range of guidelines and laying out what needs to keep happening. Every American should be grateful for medical professional who are working so hard, "the hands and feet of American compassion."

Aircraft landing at JFK first of 51 aircraft all headed to New York with supplies for medical professionals. Companies are stepping up with a spirit we have not seen in quite a while in this country. The team the President has assembled....all the partners at state and local levels.

What the president has layed out today, many Americans hoped we would be over this sooner, there may be frustration and disappointement, but what I hear is there is light at the end of the tunnels. As we all do our part to avoiding, distancing, listen to state and local leaders. Heed domestic travel advisory. We will hasten the day when we get to the other side of it. Yes, there are challenges in the weeks ahead, but there is hope as we put guidelines into practice. We must each do our part. When Americans know how tall the hill is, Mr. President, we have never failed to get over it...we will get through this and will get through it together.

Trump: We are all in this together. I've never seen such unity and the spirit of the country. The enemy is death. Very unpleasant to go through. The level of caring and love and competence, it is brilliant and in other countries, I don't know, but it is happening here. I am very proud to be your president!

That's exactly why I cringe every time I hear a conversation bitching about corporations being "greedy." Strangely enough, the best business practices generally benefit workers, the company, and the consumer all at once. It really isn't a zero sum game.
Me too! Corporations are things. They are neither greedy nor evil. I love it when they are profitable, as it helps my 401k. Corps do generate wealth, but they do not pay taxes. Think about it. Say a Corp has to make 10% to stay in business. The actual % doesn't matter. Taxes are one input of production, like electricity or plastic resin. All the inputs are calculated into the selling price to hit that necessary 10%. Whoever buys the finished product pays for the inputs, including the taxes.
