The dumbass at their ad agency, however, needs to be strung up by his gender-neutral non-binary.... whatever(s) until he understands that doing STUPID stuff like this with their clients' brand and image... should result in firing, with extreme prejudice.
Sorry, but I am sure someone thought they had a real handle on snipery or operatery or Eskimo-ey... or whatever when they created this image. They were probably really pleased with themselves and already counting on the promotion to Senior Associate Junior Executive Account Manager... and thinking about buying an Audi.
Instead they have managed to take a company that has so many thing going for it... and making it a laughing stock.
Well, the world needs Barista's, too. And they can be binary. So he/she/it/him/her/their/shemale/shewe... can salvage a new start.
Oh, yeah... and whoever at Cadex approved this. Because, well, MBA-marketing does not make one all snipery.
There are lessons here for folks representing the firearms industry. If you're at an agency or outfit that is creating their image... Get to know the community. Before you make them into a CosPlay laughing stock among the folks who are really the potential base. Unless you are looking for a base of CosPlay customers. In which case, check out some Retro CounterSniper packaging and design-away.
Or, maybe they won't learn? Besides, I think they sold a shit-ton of Counter Sniper scopes, judging by some of the discussions c. 2010...
So maybe just carry on? Whatever the case... The first rule of marketing is... Know Your Audience. Or the fallout can be both costly and, dare I say, Hilarious!
