This I would like to see some picture ofYou guys are all doing good work.
I am thinking about doing a Bell and Carlson stock I have in a tactical zebra pattern.
If you're thinking about (censored) for the first time, you might be feeling excited, scared or nervous.I’ve always been scared I’m going to mess up lol, I should just practice on a cheap stock.
I’ve painted probably 10+ rifles using the sponge method. Works great. My most recent one below.
Looks fine to me. Wouldn't work where I live because it's more of a semi-arid to desert landscape but in a green forested area this would work great.Trying to decide if this looks like amateur hour or not. The factory paint began to chip around the nose from the bipod. I decided to repaint. I know its not gonna look factory but would like to look nice. Brown, OD, black, Coyote. The black and the brown almost look the same unless you look close. Its weird. Would it look better with a solid OD stock?

Yes it helps a lot with texture.Anyone who's painted a rifle with the Krylon sponge method....
Does it give the stock more texture? My Tikka is super slippery with gloves on and I was hoping paint would make it "grippier."
Like turning the grip into a sanding block....Thanks for the suggestions. Silicon carbide...interesting.
Tried again. Ipotato photo... OD, Khaki, Flat Black. I think it came out much better.

What stock is that? I like the geometry and it looks lighter than some of the more "tactical" adjustable ones?

No, I don't have silicon carbide on any gun. I do have a piece of skateboard tape on the front strap of a 1911 style pistol. Grips well but is a little abrasive until you develop some callouses.
You might not want it everywhere on a stock.
I really like this color combination. I'm assuming it's the same sponge method you used in your stock picture? Could you also share the colors you used for this? Apologies if I missed it in the thread.Gave my 6.8 a Star Wars blaster look. I have literally been going around the house to see what I can paint next, maybe my g40 frame...or the whole gun
