I hated the slick grips on the BK-2 so I decided I would give them some stippling. Holy hell, is it an improvement. I really like the grip now and boy does it stick in my hand. It actually looks pretty good too, kind of matches the blade finish. I used very fine tip on the soldering iron.

Looks great, I too didnt care for the slick feel of the zytel that comes on the beckers, but what witht the micarta being 2/3rds the price of the knife, I opted to make my own set of walnut. Very nice work!

Here are some pics I got this morning after a light snow, they are however crappy phone pics though lol

Now after couple of other light mods its actually my favorite knife now. Heres hoping they speed up the rerelease of the BK10s pretty soon.

suitslinger,
Thank you brother.

YN,
THAT LOOKS AWESOME! What sheath are you using?

Well thanks! I didnt use a fancy wood or anything since its a user knife, but I am pretty proud of how they turned out. The sheath is a spec ops combat master, and it is IMHO a huuuge improvement over of sheath that comes with the knife. I chose is over custom kydex because of the pocket and the molle attachments let me hook it up to my pack. The stock sheath noticably dulled my knife every 10 or so unsheathings which some people seem to not notice, but it was bothering me. Also the sheath fits any knife blade up to 6" so its was a win in that reguard as well since it let me put some of my other knives in there as well, Ive been keeping a lighter and a spare allen key in the pocket, and so far Im liking it alot.

I think it's very easy to do. I use a very fine tip on my soldering iron and take my time. I've already done multiple guns, knives, etc. so I'm practiced up. Once you get the hang of it you can go pretty fast while maintaining a nice look. Best tip I can give on not messing it up is practice on somethings you don't care about messing up until you find the depth, size, pressure, time, etc. you need and then you can move that to your actual knife or gun. Good luck!
