Strelok Pro

Recently got a new Android phone, Strelok Pro moved over flawlessly keeping all my data with smart switch. Not sure if Google supports "smart switch".

BTW Igor is still answering emails and has been helpful with reticle questions.

Same here, Pro moved over just fine. The only issue is can't get updates now so working off of older version. But it works.

I tried something last night that worked well for me, but use at your own risk.

There is a program out there called F-Droid that will allow you to transfer apps between devices. In this case, I had a 10 year old Samsung tablet running Android 4, that had Strelok Pro on it. This tablet stayed in my range bag and was only used for Strelok Pro and taking notes. It would no longer connect to Google Play so I don't know when the last time it updated.

My goal was to see if I could get Pro over to an LG tablet that was a little newer, running Android 5. Downloading an older compatible version of F-Droid to both tablets, and using the built-in Bluetooth functionality, I was able to share the version of Strelok Pro in the Samsung tablet with the LG tablet, and install it.

When finished, I deleted F-Droid from both devices and Strelok Pro continues to run on both of them.

Of course the bullet database, reticles, etc are not getting updated but the Bluetooth functionality for external devices, as well as the weather capturing feature, still work fine.

This only works on really old versions of Android now.

Figured it out. Was not QUITE as easy as they made it out to be

Downloaded Imazing.

Used old phone to backup my iPhone 13 which had my good StelokPro with all my loads.

Then connected my iPhone 16 and went to manage apps library and downloaded to my new iPhone 16. Had to enter the apple password. No idea why but I did it.

Kept all my rifles and bullet data.

Then I did it to my iPad Pro for good measure to have at the range.

Pretty tickled.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I’m married to the Apple Ecosystem…

May I express my sincere condolences....

It has its advantages. I have some friends for whom the Apple ecosystem is a life saver.

The Apple ecosystem is like any system — it can abuse the user: you.
To lead you down a path.
That you will never be able to return from.
For ever.
And ever.

Just ask Eve how it turned out for her when she bit into the apple....

Matthias 😉

Indeed (y)

did you transfer it to your new device with imazing?
No just though ITunes. Maybe why I couldn’t open it. I got the it’s not longer supported or some crap like that! I didn’t even think this would happen. So never used any special apps to put it back on the iPhone. Oh well!

Being outside the US, I found the Android .apk online — with the version 7.2.0.

Matthias

really interested in this. currently visiting Germany and would love to get a Strelok Pro version on my phone.

looks like Igor recommends downloading the Huawei app store then getting his app through there. i paused when i started to download the app store and got the " are you sure? this app may be harmful" .... im going to think on it some

Sounds like the U.S. State Department at work.

Much to the chagrin of its leadership, I think Britain's cellular networks have maintained Huawei infrastructure - couldn't be beat.

Might be some other major European country, could be wrong.

Imazing v2.18.. is NOT working for me with iPhone 12 Pro/IOS 17.7. Details:
  1. Dowloaded/installed Imazing per post #101. Note that current version is v3.x. The version in #101 was v2.x.
  2. I was able to follow the video's steps until the 8:37 mark. At that point, the video shows right-clicking the app and selecting
"Download to Library" as seen in this screen capture.

  3. In Imazing v3, the selection choices are different. Note that "Export .IPA" is greyed out. I assume the export function is now a paid feature, because choosing "Download to Library" results in the app going off to the app store. No bueno.

  4. So I discovered I could download v2.18.1. Went back and deleted v3 cache, deleted the app, and installed v2.18. And guess what? The damned thing still throws the v3 selection choices with "Export .IPA" greyed out and "Download to Library" still going off to app store.
Crap. If anyone still has the computer "fiddle with s#!t ad nauseam" gene still active - I retired as a principal software engineer quite a few years ago and now the really fiddly stuff is delegated to my senior network engineer offspring - and wants to poke at this, I'd love to learn that I overlooked something.

Thanks.

I've been using Revic for a while and it seems to do everything I need it to. Multiple profiles, gps location for environmentals, the ability to connect to your kestrel.
It does have a very limited catalog of bullets compared to Strelok and there's no reticle or dialing feature (which I didn't really ever use anyway) but it's straight forward and it works.
