That's for sure. I will be getting at 3rd scope at the retail price. I looked at the internal turret part and the housing to the internal is also real beefy. Its a built really well. And yes there have been others that said that your reviews are only hyping the SWFA scope. But looking at mine its exactly what you stated in the video and to me personally even more.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

I actually didn't think your reviews had that much "hype" to them at all. I thought it was fair review of a product based on what the product is supposed to do (i.e. the adjustments are accurate, glass is good, etc). I didn't hear any claims that it was going to be better or worse than any other scope out there. I did not get the impression that there was any bias toward the scope at all. I thought the strongest language you used was when you said it will compete with scopes of a higher price range...not exactly hyping it up. Your review was fair, SWFA provided me with a great optic at a great price.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

These pics are awesome everyone!!! Thank you for the great deal SWFA and LL!!! I have just started getting into the sport and at first thought this purchase for my first scope may have been a rash decision but every time I read another person open their scope and be impressed by the quality it makes realize how lucky I was to get in on this!!!

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

Thanks. That picture there is right before I popped that rifle's cherry(taken yesterday afternoon). I bedded it the day before, over 2 1/2 years of lead times, from the action, the to barrel, to the stock, two different triggers, and the second scope being the SWFA to get it where it needs is now. I thought it was shooting like poo the first two shots, then the 3rd shot opened up the hole a little more. It really likes 34grains of varget behind a 140gr Amax. My first load for it. I only put about 10 rounds through it thus far. It was a long time in the making but totally worth it.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

First trip to my home range today. After a quick zero, I made a drop chart based on 785yd dope, then got 1st round hits on 1100yd steel. Love the scope, especially the diamonds in the reticle. 6.5x47 Lapua.

The Switchview lever for the SWFA 1-4X24 SS works on this scope as well . There was some interference with a screw but the owner of the rifle was able to make it work . The new Switchview for the 5-20 will have more clearance so as to not interfere with the screw . Not sure when they will be available but it should be soon .

The Sunshade off of a Leupold 50 MM scope works fine on these as well if your in the market for one .

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

That rifle belongs to a friend of mine who occasionally invites me over to drool on all the cool new things he is testing out . I updated the post above with some new info after getting ahold of him this morning .

The 4" 50mm Weaver Super Slam sunshade works pretty well too.

That is the cleanest match for a sunshade that I have seen so far. Thanks!!

Just put the Weaver on my SS. It is indeed a very, very close match. So much so that if SWFA told me it was OEM from them for the SS, I'd believe it.

OK I went back out to my Pards the other day and looked at the Switchview lever a little closer . There is a screw between the number 8 and 10 mark on the objective that is not present on the 1-4 Super Sniper that does cause some minimal interference . That being said my Pard didn't do anything to his Switchview lever to make it fit , if it was a problem you could file the nub down on the Switchview probably less than a 1/16th of an inch and it wouldn't touch the screw at all .

So again the Switchview for the 1-4 Super sniper will work on the 5-20 Super Sniper . The Switchview is manufactured and marketed by MGM Targets and can be purchased here .... MGM Switchview . Just call them up and tell them you want the one that fits the 1-4 Super Sniper .

They should be available in a few weeks:

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

I'm very happy with the fit and feel so far. Awesome eye relief and clarity!! Turrets are super tactile. Everyone waiting, hopefully you don't pull out on this one, well worth the wait!

Right now my rifles are with mike at UGSW so it'll ride my kimber 82g for now!

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

I received mine as well today, unfortunately my rifle will not be here until Monday. But when it does its going up here. Also, this scope is awesome! Glass is superb, turrets are very positive, parallax and mag ring are very nice, I havent really messed with the illumination much yet though. The only thing that I can say that is slightly negative is that at 20x, the eyebox is a little touchy. Still, this scope is very much every penny from what I can tell right now.

Pricing out throw levers, $60 is the same price or cheaper than others I have seen. Happy with the price personally.

Agree with Frank, the cattail will be nice. It's difficult to rotate the power ring without moving the parallax. That cattail looks nice. I like the new style clamp that doesn't flare it out.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

I noticed everyone's focus rings were all the way forward- what kind of eyesight does a focus ring that's all the way back require? I wear glasses and even mine was all the way forward.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

Ordered on 5-24 with a trade in and it shipped on 7-20, got a big smile on my face today. Scope will be delivered on the 25th; thanks for the good deal SWFA and Low Light.

You are talking about touchy eyebox and you do not even have it mounted on a rifle? OF course it is going to be real touchy when you are just holding it up with your hands.

+1 to this. Without the scope being mount the eye box will be touchy. Mine is fine and by far the best eye relief I have seen on a scope at 20x.

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

Analyzing the eye box pre-mounted is nothing compared to the guy that came in yesterday.

He purchased a 1.5-4.5x24 Barska and brought it back because it had tunnel vision, poor eye relief and was not magnifying objects it was making objects look smaller and further away than they really were.

We just told him to turn the scope around and look through the other end and viola just like magic all of his problems with the scope were solved.

Haha! Gotta be someone out there to do it!

Re: SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD Picture thread.......

This almost sounds like my buddy that mounted his scope with the elevation to the left and the windage up. He just couldn't figure out why he couldn't zero his scope. After a good laugh we fixed the problem and then he blamed his brother.

stuff happens what can I say hehe
