Rifle Scopes Switch barrel optic advice

I'm looking to build on an Origin. Having multiple barrels I plan on using a Gen2 Razor for an optic. Along with having written documentation of Poi shift, anyone made indicator marks on the inside of the turrets? Maybe a dab of modeling paint to indicate where it needs to be for each caliber? I also intend to do this with my LMT MRP and MWS if its feasible.

Easier to zero for primary barrel that you tend to shoot most then have the offsets for others in your ballistic calculator. That works well if POI is consistent when swapping and then coming back. I think I’d avoid the paint idea for resale and the fact that they’re still only going to get you within a couple tenths. My AI has been pretty good but not sure about bighorn. If you’re one that needs a perfect zero it will drive you crazy keeping track and adjusting all the time only to have to zero at 100 a click to two from notes.

I’ve always written it down. There’s not a ton of room in there to make marks. Just write it down.

Yeah, I have all my rifles setup as switch barrels. I just note down what the adjustment is from each caliber in the data book I have for each barrel. The zeros stay pretty consistent but I still check zero and adjust every time I swap a barrel. It's normally not more than a 0.1 or 0.2 off what the noted zero is.

Definitely don't need perfect zeros. I just shoot steel. Not trying to make tiny groups.

That’s been my approach as well. I use AB app and it figures in offset into dope so I rarely change my turret zero.

I have a little data card that I made that is a cross hairs drawn on a blank piece of paper with marks on the paper showing where each barrel is going to impact, with notes about each offset distance. Not sure if it's any more/less efficient than having a "master" barrel that all offsets are referenced from, but it makes it visually easy to see where I can expect one barrel to impact when switching from any other.

I rezero the turrets for every barrel when I swap.

This is a solid choice for switch barrel. Just record the numbers inside the turrets for each calibre and you can switch back n forth with ease. You don’t need to re-zero or mark you turrets. I keep a pic of each calibre/load on my phone and it takes a few seconds to switch from one to the other.

@TJC I never thought about taking pics. That's a really sweet idea.

The reason I chose the Razor was the ability to dial below zero and the L-tec turrets.
