Having made a decision on this I am now posting. The laser cut foam is among the accessories that trickled in after the rifle arrived. The foam does not fit the rifle. Every dimension is either too tight or too generous. Ultimately it is the lack of protection for the scope and the, in my view, excessive removal of material to make the rifle fit that require this foam to be scrapped. I will start over with the uncut piece of foam that the rifle was packed with
As it came
The laser cut foam
Butt stock area requires extra material to be removed on all sides
Scope relief is excessive.
The cut for the barrel channel is several inches too short
The angle for the bolt handle is for a different bolt. Relieving it to accommodate the bolt handle results in a recess about twice the size required. It is also cut a few inches too long, maybe for a magnum length bolt.
