I've tried hiring someone to profile a Lilja blank for the Mod5 with no luck, so now I'm willing to pay anyone that can supply a print or dimensions for the profile. Simple as it gets, provide the drawing and collect cash. I'm speaking of the muzzle end in specific.

Did youtry contacting this guy. He has built and sold commercial Mk5's Alan Brown at High Caliber Sales. Alan was the former lead Armor at CRANE buildig these exact rifles for Naval Special Warfare Snipers (SEALs).

"If anyone wants to get saucy with barrel options (Mod 0 / 5 / 7), Carson Lilja has supplied me with the links to their technical specs for the barrels on their website. The wait time on the Mod 0s and 5s are about 12 weeks, whereas the 7s are kept on hand.

Besides a 0.5" increase in the chamber surface and a slight taper in the last 2" of the barrel, the Mod 7 and Mod 0 are virtually identical. I may opt for the Mod 7 so I am not waiting 3 months for the barrel, depending on Alan's approval of it working in the stock."

1. I really don't have time to wait for Alan Brown, although this would be the ideal solution.
2. Lilja doesn't have the profile information for the muzzle end.
3. I have contacted Knights Armament twice with no luck.
4. I have also contacted one other person who could do this with no reply.
5. I'm not trying to beat anyone out of anything that worked at Crane, I'm just running out of options to satisfy a customer.

How 'bout Dan Lilja? He's sold that profile before I thought?

Last I heard you could order one from Lilja. Is that no longer the case? A quick search on google showed that someone on AR15.com has a print but also mentioned HCS no longer does anything with MK13.

You would need to contact Alan Brown or someone of his caliber who has experience with them. Dan Ross also might be able to, and I believe(may be wrong) that Longrifles inc has made a Mod 5.

Just for general info of everyone else, the MK13 mod 5 barrel is sold as a blank and then the end was machined by a gunsmith at Crane to accept the MK11 suppressor.

I would start off by emailing Alan, just know he is neck deep in builds and probably cannot fit you in his schedule, but could definitely provide you the info and point you in the right direction of another smith to do the work, he has always answered any questions I had on the MK13 program.

^^^ This. Carson Lilja still supplies the exact barrel. Alan can make the rifle. Betting he is at 12 to 18 months backlog. And the wait time is totally worth it. But don’t expect him to spend tons of time chatting about the guns or giving you specs or whatever... he is too busy building them. Great guy! Great rifle he built for me. It took a while but totally worth it and he is just the best person to do a build with! Cheers Sirhr

Backlog is about 19 months right now, at least on my build, and i think there are a good amount of people ahead of me.

I would just ask Alan if he could email you the machining specs and use a competent smith unless you are cool with waiting that long. Have you asked in the gunsmithing forum if anyone else has experience?

I’m in the same scenario, hopefully there’s an alternative to AB due to the wait. I reached out to Chad to see if he can turn down a barrel to run a Mod 0 can. Will update if I get anything worth sharing

Disregard. Yes, the Mod5 (KAC can) dimensions are lots different than a Mod0 (no can) and Mod7 (Surefire can).

Because this whole thread sort of went from “I’ll give you a Benjamin for specs” to “Allow me to introduce you to my custom rifle company” in about 8 posts.

Or maybe I am interpreting this wrong?

I'm in agreement with sirhr, here. If you want to sell on this site, there is a way to do it. Not addressing wanting to do that with the HMFIC (and minions) in the first place won't be good. I suggest you do that.

Fyi, I just got a note from a buddy who I trust completely and who helped me with my Mk13 Mod 0. He gave Raven the thumbs up and said he is legit and GTG.

The posts above may seem a bit odd from location, and or the requests, which was the origin of my post. But question answered by a trusted guy... and the outset is that Raven is good people.

Just FYI, lest a vintage SH pile-on begin!

We appreciate the post being brought to our attention, but we're not going after someone with over a decade of tenure and who obviously does more than just sell their wares here.

Evidence of this is that everyone was suggesting where he go for a build not realizing he is a builder of considerable skill and can easily do the profile on his own but his meticulous attention to detail requires it be done to the historical spec.

I see him contribute more giving info on the history of a rifle or offering some good info. Cant recall a thread where he flogged his business. Google search him you will see he is not just a builder but a competing shooter.

Mark built me my favorite rifle so I am biased...



I am patiently waiting what will likely become another favorite after he gets all these squid guns built.

Someone hurry up and help this man out so he can get to building my gun.
