The downed cop was assigned to gun traffic task force, from what I read looks like a bad gun deal went down (Now a Hate Crime). Looking at some of the locals with their cell phones out filming the cops I'm sure, it looks like an episode of thug life?

Some countries such as Japan, with it's draconian gun legislations, CAN maintain strict order and civilized life only due to the fact that the ENTIRE culture is a collective-minded culture that operates more like the Borg than anything else. That is why gun laws and other strict facets of daily regulations and heavy handed government are readily accepted as routine life.
The USA is NOT like that, by any means. Neither is the United Kingdom, or China. China is a pressure cooker of 56 ethnic groups held under a massive valve that is made up of the Han majority and the Communist Party, which is the main representation of Han rule. This valve is the only thing that is keeping the superheated liquid beneath from explosive flashing. Contemporary Europe, it's current social disasters exacerbated by rampant and almost uncontrolled immigration, is no different. Our own country, with it's own major underlying social problems, is no different either. All of these countries are closer to massive social upheaval and civil war than anyone can believe. Trying to get rid of weapons or keeping a segment of the population from obtaining weapons only drives the determination of that segment to be armed and ready for violent conflict at a second's notice. According to the latest UN figures, China alone accounts for the FOURTH highest rate of civilian-owned firearms in the world. Most of these are illegal and unregistered guns. They are not being kept for fun or hobbies. They are being kept because a large portion of the society knows that some shit can and will go down in the foreseeable future where it is either kill or be killed.

The BHIs, at least in Philly, show up at religious events sponsored by other faiths and try to pass out tracts and sell small items like body oils, etc. It's pretty annoying and basically a passive-aggressive protest activity against other beliefs.
