The drones that were flying in Colorado were large and well out of the affordability range if your average teenage prankster.
What I noticed during our drone flying experince was a bunch of white pickups with TX plates. Seems like they said Halicon or something like that on the door. I will ask my dad, he might have pictures of them. We saw a couple groups of 10 or 15 pickups about half with enclosed trailers. After we stopped seeing them around. We stopped hearing about seeing drones around.
The only drone I saw was a large fixed wing drone. It immediately grabbed my attention because it didn't sound like anything I have ever heard flying. I think it was more like 2021-2022 time frame. I am about 50 miles from the nearest military maneuver sight.
I mean I guess you're not the only one making big reaches.Haven’t seen any reports or images of spottings during the day

Not to mention the company provided makes them, not travels around country and flys them. If they were running around CO and NE showing off their drones. I’ve seen the same videos and pictures everyone else has seen, I also know how retarded people are. A good chunk are planes in pattern you can see the whole plane in some pictures. I see obvious Mylar balloons posted as UFOs, crashing hot air balloons posted as UFOs, retards with sleep paralysis claiming they were “visited” and I worked in that field. In 2024 with powerful computers in our pockets people post migrating geese and the planet venus as UFOs. I’ve even seen lights claimed to be UFOs with tons of comments about “it’s real!” Then a daytime photo is posted and it’s a couple radio towers.
Living with common sense and looking into shit before you just believe is a curse.

Instead of looking up a word in a picture available to you, you just sit around wondering. I do not believe that a nuke will have a radioactive signature visible from more than about 30 feet. Ditto chemical agents. Exception could be a dirty bomb but anything bright enough to be detected from a distance will be impossible to handle, so also probably not that.
Aerial surveillance would not be the way to quietly look for anything this interesting - you can fit more sensitive equipment into box vans and search with a similar resolution, without having hordes of idiots standing around looking up with their mouths open.

Not suggesting rad IS what they're looking for. But the element or isotope and any containment would play the largest factor in determining whether or not the material can be detected. Gamma, X-Ray, and Neutron energy can travel 100s of feet or more, and may only be blocked by dense material or material high in Hydrogen.
Generally, we get concerned with sensor spikes above 2x the naturally occurring background and use that as a starting point for identifying possible problems.
Ironically we use a Chinese DJI Matrice UAS with a RAE Systems Multi Rae (with Gamma detection) to do this very thing. Working with a "foreign partner" in 2022, they used backpack detectors and bicycles in order to navigate the narrow streets/alleys of that area as well as vehicle mounted systems. They really wished they had UAS capability in order to cover large, dense areas rapidly at low cost.
Depends on the aircraft. True, Landing lights, you are correct for the ones on the wings of most commercial aircraft.
As you know, the landing "runway" light is a separate light and point's down, very bright and light's only the runway most often installed on the front landing gear strut., which means gear down. That's the brightest one I was referring to. Different airlines use different procedures though.
Gear normally doesn't go down until over localizer on final. Always exceptions though.
The television news showed one of the killer drones in its coverage this evening. It was a fairly clear picture all factors considered. It was a long tube like thing with two long slender things sticking out the side. Those slender long things were kind a sweeping back from where they were stuck on the tube like thing. On one of those long slender things was a green light. On the other there was a red light. At the front there was a while light and a white strobe light.
I’d bet some serious, serious money that if we could see the top of this long tube like thing we would see a flashing red light.
I’d also bet some serious money that the tube was filled with human beings with two more important people in the front telling the tube like thing where to go. LIKE ON APPROACH TO THE LOCAL PASSENGER CAPABLE AIRPORT!
I’d also bet that these killer drones were made by the Boeing killer drone company or the Airbus killer drone company.

This is true, but it depends on time of day. Most airlines have set their schedules to include landing and turnarounds that mass up traffic to certain times of day. It's a connections thing, along with ground personnel use.those maps always look crowded unless you zoom in as see they are miles apart except at the airports.

So, at some times the amount of aircraft in a particular area of the country can look more crowded at those times. When it comes to the northeast US though, there is always a lot of traffic, only slowing down from around 10:00pm and 6:00am. The image I posted with time included is prime time which is typical for the area.
And at night, don't forget the 50-100 mile aircraft lights visibility. That is a long ass way!

Yes but... Distance travelled isn't the whole story. Inverse square law and self shielding would reduce the majority of sources (which wouldn't kill a bystander fast) to undetectable above background at distances shorter than the height three things are flying.
I'd be interested to hear more about what you were looking for with drones. I knew a guy who mapped activity at chernobyl (and some quarries) but that was more of an analysis of a gigantic fields than looking for one relatively low activity source.
