Drones over New Jersey?

Rednecks with large commercial fireworks need to start doing aerial denial operations.
They're sticking to the coastal cities unfortunately. I had the same thought as well, but I live in the midwest. The drones may be flying too high for mortars though, so bring along a few backyard rocketry enthusiasts just in case.

1000% true
Not necessarily. About ten years ago my dad was outside after dark smoking a cigarette. He poked his head in the house and in a hushed tone of voice he told me to come outside.

I stepped out off the back porch and he said "look at that" while pointing to the west.

I looked west down a right of way that runs through the back yard and there was this bright white light hovering over the trees probably 1500 yards away.

Okay, airplane landing lights, not uncommon around here. But it wasn't moving. Helicopter with a search light ? It's happened before. No sound.

Occasionally it would change elavation, higher or lower. It would move left, right, and diaganoly. It looked to be projecting a broad beam of light and you could see it changing directions going from nort to south. Then the light started fading out like you just turned off a huge stadium light or something. Then it would slowly come back to a bright white.

After fifteen minutes of watching it move up, down, and side to side the light finally faded out of view to the naked eye. I went in the house and got my pvs-14 and pointed it west and there it was. You could still see it emitting light and the directional bean was very apparent through nv. Then it was gone.

A couple nights later it showed up again! And this time it looked closer. Close enough I thought I had a chance of getting near it if I took my sidexside across a neighbors pasture. I loaded up and took off. When closed the distance about half way to it, it faded completely out of existence. No signature visible under nv or thermal. Wierd as shit.

Can't miss an opportunity to impose on civil rights:

I don't see any historical FAA NOTAMs for KSWF closing the aerodrome for any reason, let alone for UAS/drone activity.

I also see no press release from either the SWF International Airport or the Port Authority of NY/NJ on this topic, either.

Only thing I've found is Hochul's statement and the bazillion news stories it has created.

Kinda reminds me of a cross between "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "Wag the Dog"...............

More bullshit. Seems like if "Hazmat" suits are in order that perhaps, just perhaps, "someone" ought to shoot one of these things down and get to the botton of what in the hell is going on.........

But, personally, I'm confident that the "authorities" know exactly what is going on.......

How many weeks and they cant track them via satellite imaging or anything?? I bet if I flew my drone over the local county airport (its big enough to land Air Force One).... they'd be on it like flies on sheet, tips and business cameras, and a little poking around they could figure out who it was.... but this... they cant... lol. Its laughable because its so much BS. They expect us to believe this? And basically telling us that anyone can strap a Claymore on a hundred of them and just fly in anywhere they want and they cant and wont do anything. Even though all the known threats against our country and the people around the world that love us... Thats how you know its our own govt doing this.... and keeping it from local authorities.

My counter argument (or steelman if you will), is that if someone/group planted a nuke on US soil, and they saw all this drone activity allegedly looking for it, why wouldn't they just detonate it?

If you thought your bike was going to get discovered (and consequentially disarmed), wouldn't you just go ahead and detonate it?

That's what doesn't make sense to me for this specific scenario.

i may be more inclined to believe materials for a dirty bomb than an actual nuclear bomb they could detonate.
if that was the case, the location would be at least slightly more important.

Why would they only be “sniffing” for radiation at night?

And if there is any chance of a Nuke... or a dirty bomb... then the NEST teams have WAY more sophisticated means than randomly flying drones around everywhere. The NEST teams would have scrambled from New Mexico with an unbelieveable array or equipment that would be in helicopters, vans, etc. Not random drones causing all kinds of consternation on national media.

Gee... could it be a distraction while Biden sells off pardons by the hundreds to wealthy scammers serving time?

Just wondering...

Back after 911... 2002 I think. The entire East Coast security apparatus went into freak-out mode.

They were worried about a container with a nuke in it. And 'people' were sent to intercept a container ship off the coast after radiation was detected.

Turned out to be a container load of italian floor and kitchen tiles. Which have natural background radiation levels that can be detectable when packaged in large containers.

If they can pick that up 20 years ago... pretty sure we don't need drones flying over Hoboken to find device. And the NEST teams aren't that obvious. For obvious reasons.

PS. None of that was secret squirrel stuff. Was in the media. Or at least the right media. Not sure it made USA today, though.

Even if they were trying to detect something dangerous they wouldn’t be putting on a light show.

Remember, the FAA even forced the Skunkworks team developing the F117 to put nav lights on it for when it operated within US airspace… Resulting in thousands of “UFO” sightings of a flying dorito chip lol
