I have 100+ rounds through mine and don’t have any marks on my receiver.
Q actually got back to me via email and told me the wear on the receiver is normal. Wondering if anyone else is seeing the same?

I think that bag rider is just their pic rail attachment, but not sure
Definitly been logging down all the small prototype Gucci parts I've seen for the Fix. Couple that stood out:
-Wider buttpad
-Two larger bolt knobs, one was a ball and I think the other was similar to the mausingfield knob
-34mm scope rings that integrate directly into the receiver
-Q carbon fiber bipod with what looks to be a KMW style cant lock
Patiently waiting for all of them to come out
I have 820 rounds through mine right now. No sign of that stuff at all.I just picked up my FIX yesterday, noticed two issues and hope to see if others have experienced the same.
1. It looks like the bolt shroud (? the thing with "live free or die" engraved) is wearing into the receiver at its foremost position, on both sides. I attached a photo showing the wear. Anyone seeing the same?
2. Regarding the trigger, after I take up the first stage, because the rear of the bolt has some very slight vertical play, I can feel and see the trigger pushing the bolt upwards by just a tiny amount, then hit the real "wall" for the second stage. Is this normal?

Got my 50mm NXS F1 in a Spuhr QDP 33mm (1.2") and its about 1/8 " off the rail.Yeah that’s high. Is that the 1.93” mount?
Not sure what you mean...How are you getting on with small primers?
That seems to be kinda normal. Those are the same rounds I am using. I’m going on a hunt in a couple weeks, but when I get back I make keep going and see how it looksI'm at 42.5 with a 143eld-x. 42.5 shoots great in my srs and this rifle too.
Not sure what you mean...
Gotcha, large primer- prime ammo brass, and the possible cratering was “discovered” by comparing three different pieces of brass in bright light and derterming that the 41 grain load had just a hairs width or a fraction of a hairs width of cratering. We didn’t even notice it at first inspectionI should have asked if you are using small primer brass from the likes of Lapua, Peterson or starline and if so is there any issue with primer cratering?
I believe they do offer the Proof barrel upgrade for new guns, they just seem to sell out of them pretty fast in 6.5CM. I’ll see if I have a scale that’ll weigh mine with the 22” Proof 6.5cm if your curious. I bought mine with the 16” .308 but wanted a 6.5cm barrel and my only option at the time was ordering the proof.I picked my 6.5 Fix w/ 22" barrel from my FFL on Monday. It weighs 10lb, 5oz with a LRTSi 4.5-18x44 in a Badger Unimount. Hopefully, Q will offer a either a 20" or 22" Proof barrel option as that should bring it down closer to 8lbs. However, right now it looks like they aren't even offering a the proof upgrade on new rifles.

Finally got time to flute the barrel I told you about. Q 6.5 med Palma 16 1/2" long with extension
unfluted 16 1/2" 3.10 lbs.
fluted 2.77 lbs
flute details .250" W flat bottom with radius .100" deep
flute length center to center of cutter 9.0195"
weight reduction 5.28 ozs. from fluting
weight reduction reducing barrel length from 22" to 16 1/2" 11 ozs.

According to Proofs website, a Light Sendero 20” 6.5mm 7Twist is 2lb 10oz (Thinnest and shortest they make).
I believe the 22” Factory 6.5mm is 3lb 2oz approx. Both weights are obviously without anything else attached and the proof barrel unchambered (negligible).
Finally, the 16” factory 308 is 2lb 4oz.
The ultimate for me would be 20” proof 6.5creed (or 6.5Sherman when WSM bolt is released and mag is sorted), the 8inch handguard and the short rail or direct mount. That should keep the bare rifle in the 6lb range with decent ballistics.
In combo with a March or maybe TT H series at the maximum, should be laughing.
Macca,
Did you view the attached photos?
That’s a 24” 6.5 proof research barrel with the cherry bomb and barrel extension. And it’s only 2lb 10oz.
I would say the 6oz over the 16” bartlein .308 barrel is well worth while.
It’s funny you mention the March scope. I’ve got a 5-20X50 Schmidt ultra short rrady to mount on my Fix. However I’m now looking for a secondhand March 2.5-25X42 to save weight. I already have one of the 1-10x24 March but would like the extra mag ideally.

Picked up mine week before last. If anyone is still looking for one in stock, Cabela's may have more. Nice rifle. Very light. I put a 5-25x56 gen2xr S&B on it and got the adapter to mount my Mk13-SD. Whole rifle in this config weighs what my AI AW bare did.
Some observations...
I'm glad Q has a bag rider piece and wider recoil pad in the works. Those two interface points with the rifle are narrow and for consistency it helps me if the contact patches at both places are wider. I considered using a piece of wood or a scrap of cutting board and making my own but I pulled an old cylinder shaped tab bag out and the stock works great with it. With how narrow the rear bottom is I feel you need a fairly heavily stuffed bag to get the support and purchase needed.
The Magpul magazine is a good mag but maybe not the best pattern choice. I would have liked to see them use AW magazines as I feel they are currently the best short action magazine. I did order an ASC 10 rounder as it's supported COAL is 2.865" (up from 2.830 in the Magpul). But a few things to note. My rifles lands measured out to a coal of 2.830" with 139gr Scenars. So extra mag length for that bullet is unlikely to be needed as upto .030 jump has shot well for me in plenty of barrels. And the other is the ASC mag has a spring inside that's nearly long enough to be a 20 round spring. I ended up cutting coils from the base of it because the extreme upward pressure of the follower was binding up the round being pushed out of the magazine with the one below it. Likely from the friction of how hard it was being pushed up causing it to really want to feed along with the round above. In the end I cut the spring down almost by half.. with it inside the mag body with the follower maybe 1 coil protrudes from the base with the plate off. It works fine otherwise now.
The q sert sling adapter put the logo and nice milling features so they face inwards...? It's a nice looking piece looking at the backside. The front is just a flat plate with a hole... Not a big thing, but I found that inexplicable
The dog seems excited as well.. but for the wrong reasons?
Not sure what happened at Q with the sling swivels, but they had lots of trouble with them so I guess they went this route to at least get some out. Not elegant at all, but I like how low profile and lightweight they are. My only gripe with them is the hex fastener. One of the selling points that Q made originally was that only a t25 was needed. When I asked them about it, they said something along the lines of, "The shop didn't have any T25's, so we went with this."
What length is your 260 barrel Chadhol?
I think the weight difference may be down to the bore size adding extra weight on the 6.5mm offerings.

Their older instagram posts had pics of .5 MOA but that was an Olympic shooter.Has anyone reported groups on the 308 offering, I’m thinking of picking one of these up but the only thing a google search pulled up was a truth about guns article that groups a little over and a little under MOA

I'll probably definitely be buying one over the next Harris I was planning to get for a different rifle, but I am trying to hold out to see what this new Q bipod looks like too.Anyone plan on running a Magpul bipod on their fix? If so I’d like to see some pics...

Wait a minute, I could have sworn the Q-Sert Sling mount was $30 when I was looking at them again earlier this week. They are $50 now today...am I nuts? Did they change? A $20 T25 screw added because we complained? Hahah
Looks good! Did you install it yet?Just got a package from Mr Toole!

Yes it’s on the rifle, the improvement in balance is a night and day difference. I’m happy with the change.
I was gonna give you some crap for no pics, haha, but I guess we all know what a 16" Fix looks like, and the fluting is probably pretty much impossible to see under the handguard. Hope it does well for you!
That was one of my gripes as well. I am also having issues finding a QD sling that stays attached..... it’s too low profile to work with the proof barrel unless mounted in the farthest forward two positions. My QD sling holds tight in the stock, but pull out of of the rail attachment pretty easy. Not sure what happened at Q with the sling swivels, but they had lots of trouble with them so I guess they went this route to at least get some out. just passing through. is the WSM bolt/mag going to happen, or just SH rumor?
