A 3.5-Year Endurance Test in Alaska: A moose hunter lost this rifle after falling into a stream in Alaska’s Copper River Delta. The rifle was found in a beaver dam 3.5 years later by a friend hunting the same unit. The Gold Ring scope performs as good as the day it was made.

I'm not surprised by the Leupold. Despite their being not-so-well thought-of around here a lot, they're incredibly tough and reliable. But the part I focused in on was how it ended up in a beaver dam. Holy crap, do I hate those little bastards! I've had a running battle with them on my property for nearly 5 years now, after they destroyed 30 acres of hayfield. I am still trying to rehabilitate that land, and have to keep a constant vigil with backhoe at the ready to keep them from getting it back. So, when I read they took the rifle and incorporated it into the dam, it just sounds so typical. Opportunistic little bastards. I guess it worked out for the scope's owner though (and Leupold as well).

Tuckers headline read " Leopold found in beaver". My thoughts went to.... must be near DC.,and then, I wonder who found it? and then wonder what they were looking for. Then I clicked on it and read the rest of the story.

Hell, if you help me find my keys, we'll drive out of here. (old joke, just a new audience)

It is amazing that they were able to shoot that rifle in order to determin how well the Scope preformed. I assume that is what they must have done as there are no pictures of the scope on a different rifle.

they swore no, she swore and swore yes...
she called us to get a dead animal out of her back yard, it was a beaver...
