After zeroing at 100yds from bore sighting, 3 rounds, clean, 3 more rounds clean and happy with the zero. Below are the next seven rounds @ 200yds.
Took it out from 2 to 800 yds in 100 yard increments and never missed. These were all 2 moa steel. Total round count 19 and with factory Hornady 140 ELD’s.
Now to start loading and see how things improve....

I talked to a Barrett representative about ordering a couple extra barrel screws ( 140 in/lbs. ) just in case I messed one up switching barrels out. I told him that the T-30 Torx I was using has a little sloppy fit and could see making a mess out of one possibly. He recommended using the T-30 Torx Plus. It is a much better fit. This is one sent directly from Barrett.

I got a little bored so I decided to make a wallpaper for my computer using my MRAD, I'm posting it up here in case anyone is looking for one.

Anyone know why Barrett doesn't make the MRB Magazines anymore, the black mag which I purchased from a online dealer which was suppose to be MRB sold me a black mag instead. Are Barrett mags sold online the same as ordering them from Barrett because the one I received is a lot smaller then the one that came with the MRAD ?

They should be the same size in terms of how they fit in the magazine well, however the brown magazine feed lips pictured have the notches and larger opening for a large breech gun whereas the black magazine looks like it is for a small breech gun.

Guessing your rifle is an early large breech by the buttstock design and the magazine.

When the bag rider does come out, it will probably not be an exact fit and overhang a little as the newer pattern butt assemblies have a longer rail section than the old ones. You have the newer type thumb wheel, so yours might have been a late large breech.

It's based on what Barrett submitted and won for the USSOCOM sniper rifle contract.

338 NM 27 Inch
300 NM 26 Inch
762x51 20 Inch

5 Mags in each caliber, cleaning kit, snap-on torque wrench and tools, spare parts, hard case and drag bag.

Some small variances from a normal MRAD as well.

awesome bit of kit ! ,interested to hear how the 338NM works out for you . got one in my DT that im playing around with

A couple of questions.

First, does Barrett offer the MRAD in 300 PRC and 6.5 PRC?

I haven't seen 300 PRC other than an article that mentioned a DoD contract.

Second what length of barrels are offered?

I would be interest in a 28-29 in barrel if offered 300 PRC.

what is everyone's experience with the Proof carbon MRAD barrels? Aside from price, lighter, better heat dispersion and heavier profile etc. is there any difference in accuracy performance? I know DOD just bought some in 300 PRC, but other than that there's not much info out there on them as they are fairly new. I have heard mixed opinions on the carbon barrels particularly issues with the harmonics when shot suppressed. Any input from guys with experience with them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone know if the upside down pic rail 'filler' block on the bottom side of the stock for the MRAD exists in the wild? Have been looking for something to fill in the L shaped gap they've had there meant for a monopod with something. Seems they finally figured it out.

Have looked for it but not seen it for sale. A bag rider would be nice on these rifles.

It looks like a newer version of the buttstock assembly. Compared to mine, the pic rail section appears to be longer. If that bag rider were available, it would not 'flush fit' as pictured but would still work fine. I like that they added vertical adjustment to the butt pad.

If someone at Barrett is paying attention it would be great if they offered the extra piece for the upside down rail as well as the spacer that allowed vertical buttplate adjustment.

Both would literally be bolt on pieces.

Here is my Barrett MRAD chambered in 300WM. Absolutely love this platform. The only obvious gripe is weight with this gun. It’s insanely accurate, rugged and reliable. I’ve shot this gun a lot at the range and have taken numerous North American big game with it. Any questions are welcome. Thank you

Using that tripod is the rifle clamped in tight or does it slide in the clamp like a shooting rest ?

Just recently purchased and received my new MRAD in OD Green 22" Fluted .308 barrel. I also ordered the 6.5cm 24" Fluted barrel kit. I was curious if anyone had the measurement from center of bore to top of picatinny rail? Waiting on my IMS from Leupold for my Mark 6.
