Got it ... with help from Barrett. The brake is in two pieces. You "Hold 11" and "Turn 10"... takes two wrenches.

Loosen the nut behind the brake first, then try again on the brake itself. It's a self-timing type.Having an issue removing the stock muzzle brake on my new MRAD 300 Win Mag barrel ... photo below. I've removed many brakes on many rifles, but this one won't budge ... and I feel like I'm missing some nifty trick that one of you MRAD gurus might want to share. Any advice?

Yeah, for some reason the forum doesn't show me the latest responses. I was replying to what appeared on my screen as the last post in this thread. He figured it out
That’s weird wonder why it does that.Yeah, for some reason the forum doesn't show me the latest responses. I was replying to what appeared on my screen as the last post in this thread.
Cut for the tension bolts how
I get the "buy one" part (been there - done that) ... but what the heck is a "37xc barrel"?I'm going to buy one later this year and have a 37xc barrel built up ?
Interesting ... seems like a lot of cost and customization, for minimal advantage. Certainly an option that resides with much better shooters than me. Pretty happy so far with my MRAD in 300 Win Mag and a 338 Lapua conversion kit. This photo is from yesterday's 300-WM session where I made 4 shots through basically the same hole at 100 yards (working on groups during this visit). Still getting acquainted with my MRAD ... getting it "tuned" and "zero'd" for a ELD shooting class/clinic in Utah in April. Don't always shoot this well, but this result seemed photo-worthy.It's a long Lapua case head cartridge that you can fire 338 or 375 bullets out of, should work fine in an MRAD, albeit single fed
The MRAD has a large firing pin, right? Is anyone using the 6.5 Lapua small primer brass with their MRAD?
YesThe MRAD has a large firing pin, right?
Does anyone use this bore guide ( https://store.barrett.net/p-5417-mrad-bore-guide-30-2-o-rings.aspx )?
I have the new MRAD .308 config. I've only seen the .338 breech guide previously linked in this forum though.
Also interested in a bag rider if anyone has one. For those who already use them, I'm just curious how you like it and if you use it all the time or just occasionally?
That guide is the same as the Dewey guide for the .338. I’ve emailed Barrett and they offer the .338 and .30 cal guide thru the store and I was also pointed to Possum Hollow Bore Guides for custom made guides. I placed an order with Possum Hollow and will post pics and details of the products when I get them.
MRAD bag rider ... back in stock. Just ordered mine. HERE is the link ...
Meant "bore guides" ... not "rods". Don't make fun of me ... I'm old. It's amazing I can still type.Bought my 338 rod from Dewey, and my 300 rod from Barrett got here late last week. Both fit my MRAD just fine.
Right, it's not very clear. Have you asked Barrett directly? I haven't heard anything from them. I'm interested in this as well so if you find anything out please share. My 6.5-CM conversion kit is on the way. Got the bore guides for my 300-WM and 338-Lapua barrels. I'm assuming the 300-WM bore guide will work on the 6.5-CM barrel. No MRAD 6.5 bore guide that I'm aware of ... right? Anybody know of one?
I'll know later today ... when I mount my new 6.5 barrel and give it an initial pre-shooting cleaning (using the .300 bore guide).Right, it's not very clear. Have you asked Barrett directly? I haven't heard anything from them. I'm interested in this as well so if you find anything out please share.
Barrel calibers ???Had a great time with some friends stretching out the MRADs legs out to 1000 yards. The wind was more then we would have liked for a first attempt (15 mph, gusting to 21mph) but we all managed to tag the gong. The DTA had a 16 inch barrel, and I swear the impacts barely had enough energy to chip the paint lol. regardless, my buddy and I were both very happy with how the MRADs performed.

Far mrad was 308, dta in the middle was a short barreled 308, near mrad was 300wm.Barrel calibers ???
What are good arca rail option for the MRAD?
Anyone that has .338 LM, which do you prefer? The 20", 24" or the 26"
I'm looking to purchase a conversion and I'm curious if the stability and maneuverability of a shorter barrel is the way to go. Interested in what everyone else has/ thinks.
The 26" looks badass as well. Curious how far you're pushing the .338 and 300NM? Right now I'm mainly shooting the- .308 22" beings I'm stuck on a 100yd range at the moment. But I was planning on getting out to Nevada and I'd like to have something I can send downrange 2000yds + with a little power remaining in the round. For me I went with the 26” for .338LM. I wanted it to have the legs to run as far as I could push it. For a shorty I’d just go with .308. My new love is the 300 Norma Mag. I just started using. ?
