I believe it is due to the barrel extension since they more than likely have to get it directly from Barrett. If you have access to ExpertVoice I suggest looking on there at Proof as I got mine for less than a factory conversion kit.Why are pre-fits so expensive for the MRAD?

If I wasn't in the middle of building an 8.6blk rifle I would really consider it. So please someone buy it LOLHeads up 338 Norma instock at Euro optics please somebody buy it so I dont
thank you sir…one 338N kit on the way to WyomingHeads up 338 Norma instock at Euro optics please somebody buy it so I dont
Well, you did well…I won‘t post my pricingJust couldn't resist Scopelist discounted it to 1388 so I pulled the trigger
Looks like the barrel shortage is over Eur Optics has a variety instock nowWell, you did well…I won‘t post my pricing
do you view the $2k price increase as worthwhile to go MRAD, or is the SMR as high of quality minus barrel swaps, stock?I already have a new MRAD in 300N that I am just now setting up, so I thought I would try to get SH folks first dibs…I am looking for 6.5cm myself.
I already have a 17” SMR in 308 that I picked up cheap and will stay in the herd for my dedicated MRAD shorty.
Not sure how to answer that…I just wanted both.do you view the $2k price increase as worthwhile to go MRAD, or is the SMR as high of quality minus barrel swaps, stock?
Just buy one and keep the SR25Looks like MRAD's are comming back in stock,
I am really thinking about selling or trading my SR25 for one.
If you insist....Just buy one and keep the SR25
MRAD seems very well for a magnum/ELR type platform,I have a load of firearms/optics/ammo so it was just a personal choice.
YesMRAD seems very well for a magnum/ELR type platform,
do you plan on shooting alot with the 6.5/308 going forward?
I guess it's hard for you to say because you have the SMR and MRAD setup differently and with different calibers and barrel lengths, but what I'm trying to determine is if the SMR feels like the MRAD, but just missing a few of the features that the MRAD provides. Regardless I think I will be getting the SMR!Not sure how to answer that…I just wanted both.
The SMR shorty 308 17” non folder is lighter and wanted a 308 for easy carry and offhand shooting. It wears an NX8, light spuhr hunting mount and a 7” ultra.
The MRAD (now 300N, 338N and 6.5CM) has a full sawtooth arca, 7-35 ATACR/M-Brace and a 338 Ultra can- much heavier but great of bipod and RRS 34L tripod.
I have a load of firearms/optics/ammo so it was just a personal choice.
Perhaps not so much a $$ decision. (Although I did get a tremendous buy on the SMR and the MRAD system with multiple mags NIB)

I am ordering a Pelican 1750 I can't find one specifically for the MRAD but haven't looked too hard.
Disappointing. Ronnie Barrett was an absolute Patriot. Put his values before his wallet and wouldn't sell to LEA's in California unless everyone in that state could own one. Maybe the kids didn't feel the same way but I'm shocked they would sell to the Aussies.I find that disgusting.
One word. Jobs!Just curious why?... many companies are not American. Does it matter?. Just genuinely curious
They all come with a Pelican case with foam cutouts. Thanks @diverdon
I ask, because mine came with one. I bought mine from an small out of state FFL, not sure if it came from EuroOptics or another distributor/store back in 2016-'17.
I assume it's a whole package from Barrett. Perhaps EuroOptics added it? Or Barrett no longer packages it with a Pelican to save costs?
Just curious.
How long do you reckon until the aussies start restricting sales to civilians?Disappointing. Ronnie Barrett was an absolute Patriot. Put his values before his wallet and wouldn't sell to LEA's in California unless everyone in that state could own one. Maybe the kids didn't feel the same way but I'm shocked they would sell to the Aussies.
FWIW, they "diversified internationaly" because they only had "one customer" in Australia, the Government. Now they have "two" major governments as clients. Try reading the actual article, and you will see this is discussed in these terms openly and plainly. The new owners consider their "target market" to be "the five eyes"...those are the actual words of the new CEO.Do I like the fact they sold out...No.
Not to derail the thread, and the issue you are talking about is a complex one, but what do you consider a crazy wage? We should have hanged the businessman that shipped the first job overseas. You can't export jobs to a country with a significantly lower standard of living and not have the same standard return to your shores. Foreign cheap labor and mass migration have decimated the blue collar worker. And this is my opinion even though I'm a Christian conservative who doesn't believe in unions. Not when they all want crazy wages
That makes me feel better. For those worried about them stopping sales, or moving production out of the US. Here is a good interview with Rob Nioa from The Firearm Blog.
[SHOT 2023] Exclusive Interview with New Barrett Owner Rob Nioa
Rob Nioa, the new owner of Barrett Firearms was in attendance at this year's SHOT Show and I was given the rare opportunity to interview Mr. Nioa.www.thefirearmblog.com
TLDR: They aren't moving production out of the US, they actually want to ramp it up in TN. They want to bring back the REC and Fieldcraft lines. And they started with civilian sales in AUS before their government went wacko, so they fully support USA civilian sales and it won't be going anywhere.
Keep in mind guys that NIOA is privately owned not by the AUS government. Do I like the fact they sold out...No. But this is capitalism at its finest.
They are not changing their position. Ronnie's policy of not selling to CAL LE remains in effect.Disappointing. Ronnie Barrett was an absolute Patriot. Put his values before his wallet and wouldn't sell to LEA's in California unless everyone in that state could own one. Maybe the kids didn't feel the same way but I'm shocked they would sell to the Aussies.
Thanks…unfiredVery nice!

300N; 338 and 6.5CM
Missing the color and the MK22 stamp but have the calibers I wanted and sans scope/mount into it $6550 totalThe color looks really close to the coyote of the MK22.
That's a no-brainer!Missing the color and the MK22 stamp but have the calibers I wanted and sans scope/mount into it $6550 total
Just to clarify - you got the MRAD and 2 additional barrels for $6550? That’s awesome! If you don’t mind me asking, how did you manage that?! Haha. I’m looking at purchasing one, and it looks like it would be be $6448 (Eurooptic) for just the MRAD! Trying to save some coin, if possible, and be like @DetroitRearViewMissing the color and the MK22 stamp but have the calibers I wanted and sans scope/mount into it $6550 total
Yeah pushed barrel all the way down, threw bolt in, then tightened locking screws. Is your barrel all the way in?
I noticed on mine that the dummy bullet got stuck so i took out the barrel and put it back in
You are def. describing a problem with ejecting snap caps......it's like the tip of the snap cap hits something on the way out and the extractor loses it and the thing lands on top of the mag...
Unusual FTF for most of it. won’t find any deal like this below cost via dealer below cost. Got the 6.5 conversion on SH $1250Just to clarify - you got the MRAD and 2 additional barrels for $6550?
