Sounds like I got a deal not too long ago. I only paid $280 for 2000 CCI 250's.
I have 3k Fed GM 215's I bought after the last shortage as well as a 1000 CCI 200's. I like to go down to my reloading room and just stare at them. Nothing like a little reloading porn...
Primers aren't too bad here just yet, but everything is getting spotty. Components will come in, sell out faster than normal, and we will be out of stock for a little bit. The popular powders and projectiles stay out of stock longer than the others, especially the last few months. I have a feeling we're getting to the point of catching up to you guys, the orders for all the shipments we get are all put in a number of months in advance. Prices have definitely gone up a bit too, we aren't seeing gouging like you guys though, not yet at least
When they hit $1000 per brick I know a guy who might let go of 30-40 bricks of primers, lol.
I'm sitting on a flat of garbage wolf primers. I should get rid of them but I'd feel bad since I had issues with the anvil falling out.
Come to think of it, I haven't seen them in a few years, maybe I should look for them just in case.
I bought a 5+ year supply over the last few years. I was going to grab some m193 for 3 gun last spring but damn did I miss the boat there. Guess I'll be shooting reloads for awhile yet.
Buy one, drop it off in your car, come right back in for another.

yup, i can’t fault guys who put it up for auction. it aint their fault for finding out what the market will bear. the auction is about as blame free as it gets.
I’d gladly pay $100 per 1k brick for Small rifle primers to any other hide member that could spare 2 or 3. I’m in South Carolina.

and that’s before the feds figure out how tax firearms and Ammo/components out of circulation. Removing firearms without touching the 2A or constitution.

Dudes, I was only looking for some some goodwill from like-minded shooters while still offering twice the normal cost. Happy for you guys making bitcoin cash right now - I just want to reload and shoot.
The price is going to continue to rise on everything so long as they continue to print stimulus money. It's a hidden tax, all it does is devalue the currency.
....and fuck over people who saved and lived responsibly.
I think I would rather slow down and reduce some of my shooting sessions rather than make my own primers. This storm isn't going to blow over for a few years but if I shoot conservatively, I should be okay.

My 2c. Primers will overwhelm current demand within 12 months and neckbeards will puke, but I do not believe commercially loaded ammo will overcome demand for the foreseeable future. There are way too many new firearm owners with trivial stashes of ammo who, understandably, enjoy shooting. These people also have no memory of 15cpr 9mm or 25cpr 556, so they are a deep well of demand.
500 rounds x 5mm new firearm owners = 2.5 billion rounds of additional annual demand is a reasonable estimate, imo.
well, we are up to $330 for 500. with 24 hours to go. chalk this up as one of those things i had to see to believe.
and as i’m watching this shit show, i’m seriously debating selling the 2 bricks i bought 2 months ago. i can shoot my flintlock and bow until prices come back down and not feel like i am missing a thing.

IMHO one of two things is happening.
1) We are being fed propaganda (Gas Lighting) about how much is being produced. Yes, I have watched the YouTube video's showing a plant that appears to be running wide open. We are told it is unavailable or the asking price is sky high.
2) Some entity is buying it all up before it leaves the warehouse.
Not a conspiracy theory. Simply supply and demand playing out. Something we never expected to see in our life time. Commodities are either not there, being sold to the high bidder and priced out of the range of the average American. Food is a commodity.

Makes sense to a point... But then where is all the ammo? You'd THINK the suppliers would start producing the highest demand stuff... Like try and find 300 Match ELD PRC -- the only place for months has been GB and it's 4 - 5 times what it 'should' be.
There doesn't seem to be a shortage of 5.56 ammo but the prices are staying high. Looks like you can buy all you want if you're willing to pay the price.

Saying your stocked right now is relative, stocked up for how long and how much do you shoot or are you not going to shoot in the future is the question. I stay extremely stocked up by most definition but I also like to shoot a couple times a week, I think most guys didn't think things would last this long... Shoot enough and give it enough time without replenishing your stash and you wont be stocked up anymore unfortunately.
Makes you wonder though. Ammo companies running 24/7. Where is it all going?
Do these companies sell to the government and do they give preference to bulk .gov entities over retail?
I wonder how much ammo an entity like the Government would have to request to put enough strain on production to impact commercial supply enough to cause panic buying.
Or in times like these where people are already panic buying, exacerbate the problem diverting an already inadequate supply.

Scheels yesterday, had around 200 boxes of hornady 6.5cm 140 eld ammo, and primers.
all were gone within 30 min
So stock has been showing up. I’ve seen all the gettin spots have primers halfway often they just sell out almost immediately due to the amount of bots buying them.

2 weeks ago Scheels in Lincoln had small rifle magnum primers. 1 box limit. i bought a box and my brother got another. i paid for both at checkout and they didn't say anything to me. i was there an hour and they still had some when i left

The narrative is manufacturers are reticent to invest in increasing capacity since everything may (lol) return to normal and trash their ROI. Sorry, a tiny metal stamped cup w compound of common materials is not so difficult to create.
They-- or even a medium startup-- could compete pretty much instantly with moderate investment at these prices. Which of course leads us to the real issue...

There have been, in the last 8-10 years, at least 2 companies I am aware of that attempted to start up a primer line as well as a powder line(I believe a general 9mm/45 power and a general 223/308 powder)... Neither made shit that I am aware of. One was in Montana IIRC. I can find no references to either via the googles. I know they existed...at least in theory, because I talked to them at SHOT. One was associated with Xtreme bullets and I cant remember the other.
So lets say you order up all the machines needed to produce primers(I dont even know who, if anybody, makes machines that do this)... Best guess is 1 year before you get your shit. Next order is getting raw materials... one thing you need is considered an explosive so you need to get licensed to do this... you may or may not be able to get your license before you have your machines since the ATF generally likes to see people actually be able to make money with their licenses. So lets say you get your license in short order then you want to get on the list to get the compounds to make the primer material... who the fuck knows how long it takes to get that shit. Oh gotta get copper too to make cup's. So its far from "instant"... I would venture a guess that its somewhere in the 18-24 month time span before you push "go" on your machine.
As long as the leftist Democrats are in office,the pressure for gun control will remain, stirring up hoarding and sky high prices for reloading supplies. I stocked up during the Obama years when the prices were normal.
