No one wants to be Kelly, but unfortunately someone has to deal with reality!
I would actually say a Mod posted a request, some people gave a realistic response as to how to make that request a reality, and then it went down hill from there on MANY LEVELS!
$#!@ around here is obviously an issue, if not, then why would a MOD take the time to create this post? Reality is, the current situation is NOT working.
So the solution is, everyone please act like an adult, or report those that are not. Pretty sure that was the current policy that is NOT working.

I'll give the little fuck credit, he has done more for LR shooting that anyone else, period. Shame that still puts him under the line at most Fair rides.

This. Paul and I had a disagreement and resolved it. Ive learned to respect him more for that. I enjoy bantering with him. We insult each other but in a good natured way, never to hurt.
Its the ones who come here and think all of a sudden they are the only ones who count, that they can just indiscriminately attack anyone who differs in view point. Most of us disagree with a lot that AviCado puts up but he makes his statements, and conducts himself as an adult and gentleman without all the shit slinging. I respect that far more than those whose views I may share but act like entitled little shits.

And that's why he's still here, despite the obvious efforts to troll him into a suicidal rage. That and he contributes in other sections and obviously knows what he's doing there.
Whenever I look at a "new" member going against the grain here that is one of the factors taken int consideration. If they are in the other forums and saying things that prove that they know the subject matter then they are given more latitude than one which has obviously just stopped in to have an argument in the Pit.

Timothy, to tell you the truth, Paul's letters to the Romans and Ephesians are a little condescending. Paul was the first moderator on the first Christian board over two thousand years ago. Can you imagine the shit talk he had to put up with? How many moderators have to be martyred for Pete's sake. But I'm glad to hear you are in constant contact with him. When I go to confession this week and tell and show Father Charlie the latest shit going down here it is going to be the same old, "What the fuck?"
I like when people like Avicado come in with a different view point.
My issue with them is when they are presented facts and they refuse to accept them.

There are some who have only seen it one way but they are also fixing to see that change! Everyone has different views and that's good for discussion. I for one have always been a black or white when it comes to right or wrong! I respect that everyone has differing opinion ions and agendas. Just don't try to push them on me,

In this case, I initiated the attack, but not about the subject; a point that most here appear to have glossed over. Tucker is right about the restraint.
You might take note of the fact that I did apologize and atone for my stupidity in involving the forum in what was really a personal disagreement. IMHO, personal disagreements do not belong on any of the forums here, and I hope I remember to keep them in the private conversations aisle from now on. I am, however, imperfect from time to time, apparently a trait not shared by all in this discussion.
And then: "Well gee, the forum doesn't work, so we should delete it..."
A) That's an opinion.
B) We don't get to choose what forums do and don't exist, and if you want that changed, take it up with the HMFIC.
C) The whole point of the Pit is to air conflicting views and hammer things out; if they will respond to a hammer, we find that out. If they won't, we find that out, too. Every site needs a safety valve, but most don't have one. We have the Pit, that makes us more fortunate than those other sites.

While I totally understand that and I'm sure you speak for probably the current majority of web users, I think it is actually an important issue we need to discuss & try to change.
Nothing is "Free" when running a website there are a lot of costs and the more popular / busy / content driven the website gets, the more money & labour it takes to run the website. All that has to be paid for.
Too many people these days are all into the "free" stuff about everything. Which is fine and good, except it means that they are now the product and advertisers / corporations are the client. This is pretty much how all our modern data life is built up from the search engines you use, to the phones you carry, to the websites you visit to the social media and phone apps you depend on.
What this means however is that all this stuff is subject to the whims of "corporate free speech" as some like to call it when defending the SJW run multinational empires. They are happy to shut down anything that doesn't fit with their SJW beliefs at a moment's notice with no explanation or discussion. (As is now being made very clear by Google/Facebook/Apple/PayPal and many others).
The coming issue however is that the forces that hate actual real individual freedom and independent critical thought also hate our firearms hobby / rights. The corporate world, advertising world & banking / payment world are becoming more and more tightly controlled by a smaller, richer, more ideological group of Leftists/SJWs/Communists/Progressives. They are openly starting to put the screws to "right wing" thought and have started to put the screws to various "firearms" places. Nobody seems to be stopping them or even pushing back hard.
If our discussions places, forums & favourite methods of communicating with our friends/buddies/peers/fellow enthusiasts are predicated on advertising revenue, it puts us in a very unstable position long term.
As much as it is a pain for some, we need to have a discussion about coming up with direct financing methods for the online resources we wish to use, so that the SJW/Progressives can't easily just turn off the advertising tap or easy payments tap whenever they please.
Also it would be worth discussing paying for your privacy, I personally prefer to pay for sites that I find very useful rather than be a product.
(Which is why I'm a paying member here as well as on a couple other firearms related forums).
Another sideline issue is of course having a backup plan for the inevitable day when PayPal or credit card processors start cutting people off suddenly over as part of their SJW "virtue signalling" much like Intuit/Quickbooks started proudly doing. (I still remember the days of sending postal money orders for access to dial in resources listing your preferred username/password).
