Thoughts on 22-250AI Fast Twist?

So realistically is im not out burning down the woods with it I would be able to see better barrel life? Honestly I may hunt with it a little, but I would probably just play around at the 1000 yd steel matches we shoot. So getting hot would not be a normal thing.

May also be worth mentioning the bearing surface length on heavy vs light bullets. Theoretically the longer bearing surface should be applying friction/wear slightly longer than bullets with a shorter bearing surface.

I have a stevens 200 I picked up cheap for this purpose. I wanted to do a "budget build" After spending the kind of money I did on my 260 to have it built with all the right things...I want to see what I can do with less expensive parts and pieces put together by me.

How many rds down barrel? specs?
With the ease of changing barrels on a savage action are you really out that much if it only lasts 1500 rounds? Pre made barrels aren't exactly pricy, my Shilen was $300 from Midway iirc.

Smokin250,
I'll have my 22-250AI at Rayner's this weekend on Saturday if you want to check it out or discuss anything. I'm running 80gr Nosler Custom Competition bullets and they seem to work pretty well. They are running 3,250 as a forming load and a bit over 3,300 as an AI using H4831sc.

YES I will be there! Thanks. We should be getting up there around 1-2? Right at end of the shoot. PM me your name BTW haha.

SUIScide...that was my exact thoughts....if I burn one up in 1500 +/- rnds....at least I had fun for a bit. I really just wanted a little info before I jump in.

Why not come early and shoot the match?
