Recently purchased a rock creek barrel in 6.5mm mtu contour for my next cm barrel. I have seen good reviews on them. Curretly have a hawkhill that has been pretty damn good so far. Just shy of 800 rounds on the HH so Im assuming I have awhile to go on it. But its always good to have a back up readily available. Anyone have good results with the rock creeks. Also any history on the company. Thought I saw they went out of business and were bought out. True?

They never went out of business. Mike Rock retired and most of the staff still works there. They make barrels that are on par if not better than every other cut rifle manufacturer out there. They are great to deal with and stand behind what they make 100%.

Years ago my buddy who's a gunsmith had a Winchester 70 Shadow in .223 that he put a Rock Creek barrel on. That little .223 was a hammer, I still kick myself in the ass for not buying it from him when I had the chance.

Ah ok. Thanks for clarifying! I think I have awhile before using it. But will have Aaron Roberts spin it up for me when the time comes.

I have one.

I’m pretty sure pva uses rock creeks, if that is indeed true then I am a big fan of my pva rock creek barrel. Lots of people are big fans of rock creek.
I thought that PVA was generally using Hawk Hill barrels, but I am not sure.

Anyway, my .260 Rock Creek is a real shooter. I have about 3300 on it now and it’s still kickin it. My .224 Valkyrie AR also has a rock creek barrel and it it also a shooter. You won’t go wrong with one.

Yall can’t be showing all those good groups with the rock Barrels. Gonna make me pull my hawk hill early lol

Hey. Leave that Hawk Hill on there until its shot out. Hard to beat those and Brix is an awesome guy. You ain't lacking anything with a HH barrel on your gun.

I’ve used multiple Broughton, Krieger 5R & 4 groove, Bartlein 5R, Brux, Schneider, and most recently, Mullerworks. They have all been good barrels. I would use all of them again and am sure I will. I have in my closet to try next barrel blanks by - Hart, Shilen Select Match, Lilja 3 groove, Lederer, and Obermeyer. I’m certain I will be pleased with those as well.

I choose my rifle builder carefully though.
