Tikka T1X

Found this over on the RimFire Cental website; this is a very simple single shot adapter for the T1X (or any rimfire really). The white block slips in place like a round, and you can easily drop a single shot into the chamber. Chambers and extracts without issue. There is a little hole in the front of the block where you stick the 'ribbed' finishing naile to extract the block. Simplicity is best, and this is as simple as it gets. This little device will allow the T1X to be used in NRA Smallbore Prone matches, where single feed is required:

Finally got my T1x today..
Got scope mounted and got it to my range.. shooting at 50yds, weather was cold and lightly snowing.
Got 15 groups of 5 on paper recorded. No barrel break in. Took the plastic barrel brace off halfway through, and also lightened trigger to 1.5lbs at that time.
All groups shot with CCI SV
Averaged 0.41” or 0.78MOA. Not greatest shooting ever, but much better than I expected with CCI.. my son shot a ten shot group at 0.61” his personal best.
Cant wait to have a clear day to try out some better ammo and see what it can really do!

Pretty damn solid when you think of it as a $480 factory rifle from the box.

Not bad at all!
Throw it in a chassis, and put on a match barrel and I bet it would really shoot!
??
Personally, I’ve just been wanting a gun that shoots consistently and it’s certainly doing that. Like I said, couldn’t be happier.

1st post, but got mine out this weekend in some pretty sustained high winds. CCI SV. Only mods so far are to lighten the trigger and I found that the factory mag and the 3 extra I bought were very hard to get the 10th round into the mags, to my thumbs detriment. So I took all the mags apart and removed a bit of the spring that allowed for more room in the mag and now 10 load relatively easily.

Only one extraction issue through over 400 rounds over Sat/Sun and it could have very well been my fault. Ordered an extended mag release and a bolt handle from mountain tactical.

10 round group at 25. Hopefully the next sessions at the range, the winds will be lower and get more repeatable results at 50 and beyond.

Since the weather let up a little I put a few rounds through my Tikka.
Bravo Chassis, JARD trigger,Bushnell Forge and SK Biathlon at 50 yds
Had to come up 4 moa at 50 since changing fron the factory stuff.

forgot to mention:MT extended magazine release,

I fitted a yoDave trigger spring and with the screw fully out I still couldn’t get below a 2lbs trigger pull. I filled down some the screw face, so it could come out even further. Didn’t drop that much, then cocking became unreliable.

My two T3 triggers are fine, adjust lower with factory than my T1X and works with the yo Dave. Anyone else seen issue with their stock T1X trigger and don’t been able to drop it down to a decent weight?

A lot of T1X's have some sear stuff that won't let it go below 2lbs, regardless of spring. I'm not sure if that's a new safety thing but it's happening a lot in the T1X triggers. Rimfire central has a good post on this with what the issue was, only way is to file down the sear / send it back to beretta to fix.

Sorry for the late reply, so far I don't really face an issue like your problem, I also have mccarbo spring I try it before and am getting down to 1# for that spring. The yd as picture says my average now is 14oz. I can still go down to 12oz if i have to but this is fine with me so far.

sorry if am not able to help your issue here, but "LITTLEPOD" above have something to help your issue.GOOD LUCK!

Mine won't go below 2lbs no matter what spring I try.

I’d consider sending it back..
Clearly not working correctly...
If nothing else find out what they have to say..
I’m all for dealing with stuff myself, but at some point it’s the manufacturer’s responsibility.

According to the manual:
"Weight comes from the factory set at 13-15 N (3 lbs) and can be adjusted between 10 and 20 N (2 1/4 to 4 7/16 lbs). "

So not being able to go below 2 lbs will probably not be considered a faulty trigger by the manufacturer.

Yeah, maybe not..
I guess if nothing else could go aftermarket, but it’s 250 for Timney and 290 for Krg... seems a shame when most people are having good luck with the factory trigger..

What cases do ya'll use for your t1x? I have a t1x in an oryx chassis but all I'm finding are skimpy soft cases that are too long (that broke once I brought it home), or overkill hard cases. Just looking for something to get to the range and back.

I got one of each of these in a 42” case. Both work really well.

I bought one a few weeks ago and put it in a KRG Bravo. Trigger is awesome like all Tikkas but the bolt is not a smooth. My CZ 452 is more accurate. Is anyone making a swap barrel for the T1x yet? Results?

Do you have the new chamber they’re using?
I heard of great results from the IBI barrels with the Eley and 52D chambers, but haven’t heard any feedback on the newer barrels with the Calfee chambers..
Presumably, they should also shoot well, but it’d be good to see some data.

I have same issue in the 2 I have purchased.

The 457 barrel will come with the Callfee 4. I have the 52D in my T1x barrel and it shoots fantastic and with several types. I wanted to try something different this time.

Dd you order the IBI 457 barrel from someone in the USA? I've heard ordering barrels from Canada is a major PIA. I thought they were only doing the EPS, 52D chambers. I will be interested in hearing how the Califee 4 chamber works out, hopefully equal or better than the 52D on your T1x.
