I run the 75gr ELDM at 2.49" out of MDT mags in my 223 Varmint. Try H4895 for the best velocity and it is temp stable. I ahve taken it out to 1400 yards, really fun to shoot suppressed. I am using NAMMO brass and CCI450s. Start at 24 and work up.

Gettin my Tikka out of jail in 10 days, one question:

What is your preferred target bullet for 6.5 Creedmoor T3x Tac A1 (or CTR since I believe they have the same barrel) with factory 24" barrel??

Please choose all that apply based in your experience.

A. 130g Norma Golden Target

B. 130/140/142 Sierra Matchking/Tipped Matchking

C. 130/140 Berger VLD or Hybrid

D. 130/140/143/147 Hornady ELDm/ELDx

E. 136/139 Lapua Scenar-L

F. 130/140 Nosler RDF or Custom Competition

I’ll keep that in mind, got a couple pounds of varget to try first.

Can’t wait to finish my first build! Ordered most parts used off SN PX to save a few bucks, besides the chassis. Got a MPA Mount, now just waiting on the ZP5 to come in.

Tikka T3 w/ flutted bolt & Sterk handle
25” 6.5 CM McGowan barrel 1:7.5 twist
25” 6 Dasher McGowan barrel 1:7 twist
(Don’t reload so can’t use atm)
MPA muzzle brake
Atlas 5-H bipod
Area 419 ARCA clamp
MDT grip and bag rider
Wiebad mini stock pack

I have fell for the feel of the KRG Bravo. I put my REM 700 with Krieger barrel into one and found a comfortable groove. Now I thinking of moving my T3X TAC A1 into one. KRG website says the trigger guard may need fitting with the TAC. Anyone know what that fitting may be? Anyone know what the TAC chassis would be worth? Would the Tikka still use the ASIC mag?

I think the newer Bravos have no issues with the Tac A1 trigger. I bought one a few months ago and it fit without modification. They do use the AICS mags, but they just announced a version that will work with the CTR mags for those who don’t like reliable feeding ;)

I see what you did there. Stirring the pot. ? A 60 second spring bend and they feed 100% and almost too smooth to a fault. Cant tell if you pick up a round.

Some guys call the plumber to unstop there toilet. If you are that guy then bending a spring may be too much to tackle. ?

Took my 6.5cm 24" CTR to the range for the second time yesterday. On the first trip, I put fifty rounds of Hornady American Gunner 140gr HPBT through it and another twenty rounds of Hornady 140gr ELD-M. After the first twenty rounds or so, I was right around 1/2moa for the rest of the day at 100yds and 3/4moa at 200yds.

Yesterday I took three boxes of Hornady 147gr ELD-M to the range and was 1/4moa wider in my 5-round groups than what I got out of the 140's. So, seeing that my gun prefers the 140's over the 147's, I'd be very interested in hearing what "factory" round you guys have found to run best in your 6.5cm CTR's in terms of group and performance out to 800 yards?

Yep, I tried that and bending the mag catch. Nothing worked for me. I’m glad they work for others, and I love the new setup in the Bravo with AICS mags.

My son filled an anterless tag with my 20" CTR Friday night. We were packing up to leave and I was showing him how clear the Minox ZP5 was compared to his Athlon Helos, and I saw this deer walking towards us at 250 yards or so. He got prone on his rifle, but couldn't see good enough for a shot. I had him get behind my rifle while I ranged it, and he made the shot at 240 yards standing off the tripod. 140 grain ELDM did the job on the quartering torwards us shot. Took out one lung and didn't exit, insides were mush. I re-zeroed with the 130 Prime on Saturday as I prefer 2 holes and it has done that on much bigger deer than this one.

You already answered your own question and the round is proben in your rifle. Stick with the 70 cent per round american gunner. I use it out to 900 yards with no issues.

But then could you could use different bottom metal and have MDT LA tikka mags :)

But I haven't really. Yes, I've found the 140's do better in my gun over the 147's but, what about the FGMM 130's or the 120gr ELDM? Just curious if others have found these to do well; especially over the heavier rounds. I don't mind buying a box of several different rounds to test but, if any of them are known to not do well, I'd rather not waste the time and money.

I agree the American Gunner is a winner for the price. I have not tried it at distance so good to hear it does well.

First dedicated "precision" build!

Already own one T3 in 30-06 as my general hunting rifle, so I knew what good rifles these can be.

Started life as a .270 Win, I picked up off the used gun rack. Immediately started amassing parts and pieces, and finally received and had the barrel installed from the fine folks down at Mile High. Looking forward to getting this thing out on the range and zeroed soon.

Standard T3 action
Mountain Tactical 20 MOA rail
Mountain tactical trigger spring
Vortex Viper PST gen 2 5-25
Vortex PMR rings (.87)
Preferred Barrel Blanks 24" 6.5 Creed 1-8tw
APA Little Bastard
KRG Bravo
Magpul picatinny mount bipod
SAP 2 round holder

The Tikka did what it does best on a hunting trip this past weekend.
A Blackbuck Antelope and Whitetail doe were one shot - DRT at 180 and 230 yards
A red deer standing broadside at 218 yards was hit in the back of the near shoulder, thru both lungs and into the offside shoulder.
He was still standing, so a second round hit at the back of the rib cage finalized the process.

May be a little difficult to get them here by the weekend?

Those sterk handles are super nice though! I just find myself gravitating back towards the ctr handles a lot though. I just like the way they run for me

They dont call us a Flying Finns with out a reason :D
Jeah, no how they are in the US end of this week, but if some one is interested, i can sell my CTR handles.

Can someone confirm if this is the older model KRG cheek piece? It’s pretty stiff and I’m told the overmolded one has some give. Before I order it I wanted to make sure I don’t already have it

thank you
