I had some free time recently (yeah right), and took some through the tube photos. I love both of these scopes, they are just amazing pieces of gear, with absolutely stunning clarity. These photos don't do the systems justice. These were taken with my iphone 5 held to the ocular side, as best as possible.

Overcast night. No stars, no moon. This first photo was taken with the TNV/PVS-4. The distance to the industrial complex is roughly 1/2 mile.

With the Aquila 6x in the above photos, I could clearly make out objects on the roof.

Wondering why most the tnvc pics show your gear looking at a refinery or whatever that is with tons of light pollution and washout. Why don't you guys take them out over some naked fields or somewhere where you're mot
looking directly at light bloom? It must be close and easy cause I see it in a lot of the pics.

That's TNVC World Wide Headquarters. You think they whip up Pinnacle Tubes in a kitchen oven?

Lol

Also, what accounts for the vastly reduced halo in the Aquila? Simply a much newer Tube design?

We will have more pics coming...You keyed on what we don't do at timesand that is take pics in picture perfect conditions, full moon, empty down range environments is what many of our LE folks never see. Indeed tons of light pollution and sometimes washout (more seen with the camera though) is typical at times, it's not all about hog hunting. Just saying. :)

I used to take hundreds of down range picture perfect pics, always good for bragging rights but then again I suck at picture taking.

Yeppers along with modern day AutoGated power supply tubes which handle bright light conditions so efficiently with virtually no loss of resolution as they dim down.

Thought I would post the 6x Aquila at a tree line 100 yards away. This is was in dark conditions, overcast skies no lum. Of course why we hate taking pics down range as the through the tube shot is NO WHERE to how good the real image is.
