You will find this a unique question. I have a friend in the insurance industry that deals with salvage and inventory losses. He ocassionally deals with claims from sporting goods stores.

I could get first pick of "distressed" merchandise, but I need to put together a list. This leads to my question.

What are the top 5 or so scopes that are appropriate for the AR10/AR15 series, that are likely to be found in stock at the usual Cabelas, local gun store, Bass Pro, etc.?

I bet they'd all have Leupold. So maybe a MK4 of some sort would be on my list. Either a 3.5-15 or some sort of CQB scope like a 1-3 CQ/T or a 1.5-5 MR/T Illuminated. They might also have ACOG's which would be nice.

I live across the street from Cabela's and the 99% customer base considers going all out as Leupold Gold Ring. The brands/models "that are likely to be found" are Leupold VX3, Zeiss Conquest, Swarovski Z3 and Trijicon Accupoint.

Even an 'optioned' out Leupold Mk4 veers toward boutique.

Looking up the names, making a list.
Thanks for the help so far.

Oh SNAP! While I was looking at the suggestions, I came across RANGEFINDING BINOCULARS!! That goes on the list!

While I could never justify the $$ for laser binoc's, the chance to buy "distressed" rangefinders at xx% off retail would be great.
