I'm working on a "Mini Palma" rifle for a client and were sticking an Anschutz 5018 trigger on his Swindlehurst action from Stolle. (A now quite rare and VERY nice smallbore action)

I have a client in Japan who dabbles in the smallbore world also. He needs one of these little gizmos of mine also.

Here's the pics of how I go about grafting these two together. There are many adapters out there made by a small variety of guys/companies. Mine is the only one I know of though that doesn't require butchering the action or trigger to get them to work. It's a true adapter that combines two parts never intended to go together.

    Enjoy.

3rd op. Machining the slot for the transfer bar and plugging the holes to mate it to action/trigger.

4th op. Inspection on the surface plate/height stand to ensure it's flat n stuff. (out of order slightly as I pulled it from the vise after profile/contour work.

More to follow as I progress along this evening.

    +1, this sounds very interesting!

    BEHOLD!

Just pulled the transfer bar from the oven. She's all done and ready to be "parked" tomorrow. No chewing on the trigger OR chewing on the action! Drop in component so that down the road either part can be removed/sold/etc without altering the original piece.

    Woo Hoo!

None too soon either. Customer has a high vis match in 6 days up in MI. Now to finish the inletting and get the cheek/buttplate assy installed in this bugger.

    I'm outa here!

I should let Chad answer this but since this gun belongs to me I will add this. This action is a very close copy of a Remington 40x. It is set up to use a Remington compatable trigger. I use it for smallbore prone matches and there really are not any good 2 stage triggers that will operate in the 4 to 6 ounce range. This is why I asked Chad to do this along with restocking the barreled action. I have been very happy with the work done, and I dont feel there is much if anything Chad cannot do.

    Re: Trigger Werks. . .

Sticking an Annie trigger on a Remmy is a bit more work as the 700 doesn't use a trigger carrier. Trigger carriers started in the BR game as a way to get the trigger out of the gun for servicing when actions are glued into the stock.

That being said anything is possible and I've fiddled with the idea of taking a crack at this. Just takes a guy wanting one I guess as I tend to use my customers as lab rats to justify the time for making it work.

I built a 338 LM AI 1k bench gun for a buddy once where I stuck an Annie on a 700. There it ended up as a direct bolt in piece. It worked but was a one way street. That action can never be put back to stock again. It's not something I'd want to do again. I don't/won't butcher an action unless there is a very good reason.

If it's something you'd like to pursue, get a trigger and send me your action.
