Essentially it's the same story as was reported in 2015 from several sources. The Russian government created several large "Troll Farms" employing more than a thousand people to troll social media and political discussion boards, sow false narratives, and try to get as many clicks on disinformation/retweets as possible. They also funded hackers to try and penetrate government servers (what a shock).

We knew it was/is going on, and we knew it wasn't having much or any impact. Before the coup attempt it was an interesting story that never made it onto the broadcast airwaves in more than a mention. It was resurrected and made into an international crisis because they could mesh it with the Pee Dossier, and claim that Donald Trump was somehow connected and participating in all this. The common thread is ONLY "Russia". It was never anything but terribly thin, and even the coup faction doesn't dare say it had any impact on the actual election, because it was so ineffective and such background noise.

At least this is my take from actual facts and what is known.

I can't remember where I read the first article about it, but it was well before the election, and it actually had a photo of one of the buildings in St. Petersburg where one of the Troll Farms was housed.

That said, i loved how he called out the Trump Derangement Syndrome. i was however miffed that he didn't answer the question about believing or supporting US Intelligence. i think ultimately you have to say it whether you are skeptical. that said, that doesn't mean that you ignore intelligence offered by foreign countries. As Rand Paul pointed out, we didn't listen to Russia about the Boston Bomber and we got kicked in the dick. Russia listened to us about St Petersburg and they looked like heroes. Open dialogue and diplomacy isn't acquiescence. its mandatory in order to prevent all out war. The press keeps touting this "meddling" as an act of war. its not. they didn't hack our government computers. they hacked a private organizations emails and revealed to the world what many of us already knew. as has been said, they people who should be most upset are the Bernie Sanders crowd.

HRC’s hacked home server was specifically called out as NOT being Russian hackers, but being some other foreign power.
The DNC servers were hacked by “Russians” according to https://www.crowdstrike.com/ which is a private company hired by HRC and the DNC. They claim two separate hacks on the DNC, but that is not confirmed, because the DNC refuses to turn over their server and let the FBI investigate.

Russian hacking efforts were targeting both R and D national campaigns

Russian hacking per the DOJ now in 2x written statements - “Did not involve any Americans. Did not have any influence on the elections"

The D party wants to confuse the public on the issue of the data that was leaked to Wikileaks. The D party has gone to elaborate lengths to tie such data to anything other than what it was - an insider copied files and then disseminated them. Computer forensics have shown when such data breach occurred, and have shown that it is impossible that it was a hack over the web b/c the file transfer rate is IMPOSSIBLE over the net. It was a person who stuck a USB stick in the computer and took it.

Initially the D party tried to say this was Guccifer 2.0 but then that was shown to be bullshit. Then it morphed into ‘Russian hacking’.

It has long been thought that Seth Rich stole the DNC info b/c he watched HRC destroy the campaign of Bernie Sanders.

Seth Rich in turn was murdered (although his death has a lot of weirdness to it)

Not just HRC’s home-brew server / Awan Brother’s (Pakistani nationals - ISI?) server doing IT work for 60 D members of Congress

Hillary had SAP programs on such that she was not supposed to - treasonable offenses - for sale? As the world turns...

Sztrock made the point that "Yes, Yes" in deed he was surveilling the Trump campaign "in order to protect him from these nefarious foreign hackers" and he is surprised that the Trump campaign is not thanking him instead of maligning him.

And in a moment of real questioning it was asked "Well Mr. Sztrock did you ever think to inform the campaign what was going on and what you were doing so the campaign could cooperate or protect itself".
