Well, that asshole Paul Ryan sat on his thumbs, and hampered Trump every step he could get. Let's hope the new speaker and Congress doesn't waste our votes......but I am not holding my breath.
i am encouraged that when i talk to local people they all are v. glad trump won and are well aware that it isn't nearly over. all seem to be aware of some future moves to obstruct him,take him out and try another take over. these are people of different incomes,races,belief systems. many expect coming violence. seems at least small town people have gotten a clue

I read a report today that said there will be guaranteed further attempts against him, maybe this time they will try and hire a competent assassin now they have everything to lose post-election. Inauguration day I still a long way off, so if I were him, I would be sure to have my secret service security detail tripled and quadruple vetted and stay low sticking to closed-door meetings to avoid as many as possible;e open-air events. Now that he is president-elect, the SS should increase his security detail numbers and protection radius compared to before when they only allowed him to have a skeleton crew.

He will be President of the Senate,per the Constitution. As you've stated ,it's happened before, that a V.P. has served in his role in the Senate.
There will be wailing and nashing of teeth ,for sure, if He does assume his Constitutional rightful role.
I mentioned this idea in the bear pit several mouths ago ,and got called out and debated a member here about this subject. His argument against was " separation of powers" Legislature / Executive.......my argument was it's constitutional and has happened before.
Having said all the above, I don't know what " power" he could yield as President of Senate.....maybe appoint committee chairs ,has control of Republican Senate campaign funds.
Personally, I'd like to see it attempted and the results.......... Would need plenty of popcorn for sure, as I have a feeling it'd be very entertaining and interesting.

You realize that when Trump says he'll sign something, that usually means legislation. That's how it should be. I don't think we should encourage overwhelming executive power, thru executive orders, just because we like the present executive. Really, the Founding Fathers has a pretty good system giving more power to the legislative branch than the executive one. Mostly because arguing over everything seems to be the best way to weed out bad ideas.
@theLBC ....can u find the short clip of Glenn Beck and Charlie Kirk ( think it was) talking about JD Vance fulfilling his constitutional role as President of the Senate that was posted a day or so ago ,to go with your post ?
